    Summary

Diluc strode back across the room and let himself fall on one of the chairs across from Kaeya, the sound of his movements making Kaeya turn enough to look at him.

His glass, Diluc noted, was completely empty now.

Kaeya sighed. “Why are you here, Diluc?”

Again, a question Diluc had no answer to.

So he gave the closest to the truth he could muster, reaching for the bottle of Death by Noon. “I’m here to drink.”

Four years ago, one death pulled them apart. Maybe it's not so far-fetched to believe another death would pull them just a little bit closer.

He didn’t move towards the window. He wanted to—Archons, his curiosity was killing him by this point—, but he didn’t. Tonight, it was just a shadow at the other side of his windowpane, an amusing occurrence. But tomorrow, it could be something else—something interesting.

And Kaeya was bored enough to want to find out.

Goodnight, friend, Kaeya thought as he blew out the last candle, making the office go pitch dark.

No one came for his throat, and Kaeya was almost disappointed.

In which Kaeya finds a "spy" keeping an eye on him through the window of his office.

“It’s you!” Paimon shouted with a twirl in mid-air.

    “…Excuse me?"

They were drunk. Were they drunk? Was he drunk? Because Kaeya had the feeling his guests had been talking to him for a while now, but none of their words had made any sense whatsoever.

That was, until Venti stepped firmly in front of Kaeya’s desk and set his hands on the top, the better to lean over towards Kaeya and say: “For the end of the Windblume festival, Sir Kaeya Alberich, we’re going to auction a date with you.”

Kaeya proposes a tryst in the cellars.

Kaeya whines, scrunching his face. "Come back," he says, voice rough.

"I will," Diluc says, hands gentle but firm. "Will you lay down first? Do you have oil?"

At this, Kaeya blinks, looking a little less desperate. "I've already prepared. And, I want to ride you," he says. His eye is so very blue. Like an empty sea, Diluc thinks. Not a ship in sight.
