Summary
Zagreus could think of a million places that he would rather be besides here. Actually, he had been to those places and could confirm that they were much better. After all that he’d done -- impulsively dropping out of the college to move abroad to be free of his father’s gaze and working random jobs to prove to his father that he didn’t need his money – he’d ended up back in this godforsaken town and on his father’s paycheck.
And Zagreus still didn’t know what he wanted to do with his life. He’d returned just as he’d left – directionless.
OR--
After moving back home, Zagreus is forced to take a job at his father’s grocery store in his old town. There, he reconnects with Meg, his old flame-turned-manager, and Thanatos, his childhood friend, and is forced to confront some of the things that he’d run from. And maybe, just maybe, he’ll get it right this time.

Zagreus drags his feet forward. Bitterness is a heavy weight in his chest and he takes it out on a pebble, only- it’s not a pebble. His foot goes through it with a gasp and Zagreus squints, recognizes in the span of a breath the fuzzy edges of a large, dark gray feather.

Summary
Thanatos didn't particularly like his job of working at the hotel House of Hades, but it was a steady source of income and it didn't cause too much trouble. Usually. That is, until Zagreus is assigned to his shift to work with him to give him backup while simultaneously trying to learn professionalism in a job he hates.

Summary
Thanatos takes him away when he can. Not far and not for long, of course, but together they venture into the Underworld, seeing the domain that is Zagreus’ by birthright and yet is unfamiliar to him as the moon. He has to work twice as hard to allow for the respites and, while he doesn’t particularly enjoy the feeling of eternally playing catch-up, he suffers it for Zagreus’ sake.
He would suffer many things to bring Zagreus a measure of peace, he thinks.

Where Thanatos keeps stealing Zagreus away for short trips around the Underworld, against his own better judgement.

Summary
Zagreus has been sleeping with Thanatos for a while, but he's never actually slept with him. In the same bed. In fact, Zagreus doesn't think either of them have slept in the past few centuries.
Turns out, sharing a bed is a little more difficult than either of them thought it would be.

Dancing is a lot like making love. A dance is about two bodies moving as one to the same rhythm. It requires chemistry, understanding, and the perfect fit to each other's bodies for the dance to be mesmerizing. It lets people know whether their bodies are compatible."
Zagreus smiled at Thanatos' back, knowing that he could hear the amusement in his voice. "Don't you find that interesting, Than? I wonder what our dance says about us."
What if Thanatos was a lot more reluctant to be with Zagreus? It takes Meg to convince Than to finally go for it and get with Zag. It just involves a bit of alcohol, getting black out drunk, and kidnapping the Prince of the Underworld in front of his Olympian relatives. Then when he finally does get Zagreus into bed, it doesn't go quite as planned.
Lots of awkward moments and firsts, but Than and Zag eventually finds a rhythm that works for them, laughing and discovering each of their likes and dislikes in the process.
