Summary
Dream has… complicated feelings about daydreams. Some can be simple, plain, illogical, terrible, while others may be absolute pieces of art. Some daydreams may be enjoyable to watch, when he becomes aware of them, others can be torture. Lately a number of people seem to be having rather intense and… explicit daydreams about one Hob Gadling, and it is driving Dream to madness! (It’s not jealousy, really, it’s not!)

Summary
Deep in thought Hob entered his apartment and walked into his living room. Only decades of experience made him realize something was wrong and he snapped back to reality, just as someone came at him from behind. Hob moved out of the way and the person, a man, cursed as he smashed into the coffee table. But it had been too late for him to notice the second man and a strong man wrapped around his chest as a rag was held against his nose and mouth.

Summary
“Where were you?” His voice held hurt, even though he was clearly trying to mask it.
Dream’s expression soured and he looked away. “I’d rather not speak of it.”
“Normally I’d let it go, but by now you’ve admitted we’re friends, and I think I deserve an explanation for being stood up.”
After a long pause Dream said, “You are right.” It was several more moments before he spoke again. “I was captured and held by a man named Roderick Burgess.”
“But Burgess died in the forties,” Hob said, brow furrowing.
Dream said nothing.
