Summary
"Not even a week had passed since Steve and his BFF had completely demolished his suit and slunk off into the shadows and already Tony missed the hell out of him. Steve, that is. He still couldn’t really bring himself to give a rat’s ass about Barnes except for the fact that he was important to Steve.
Tony snapped the phone shut and set it to the side. On second thought, he pushed it a few inches further away. He was pretty sure it wasn’t possible, but he didn’t want to take any chances that the archaicness was contagious. Satisfied that the flip phone was far enough away so that his shiny new StarkTech was safe, Tony turned back to the carefully creased paper again.
Tony read the letter a fourth time. His fingers twitched."
In the fallout after the Civil War, Tony finds himself more alone than he thought possible. Hopefully, the ends will justify the means. It has to be worth it. Right?
Written as part of the "Like The Old Man Says" series, but can be read as a standalone.

Summary
He absolutely would not make eye contact with the well dressed man in the back tinkering with his phone. A glance at the clock revealed that he still had three minutes before his presentation was scheduled to begin. He thrummed his fingers against his art briefcase and decided that two minutes early was close enough.
“Good morning, everyone,” Steve spoke as he turned to the committee.
He looked up as soon as Steve started talking, causing a legion of butterflies to take flight within Steve’s stomach. He never could make things easy. Steve took a steadying breath and plowed forward with his presentation. The sooner finished, the faster he could get away from Tony.

"That’s right. There was a mission. What was it that happened? There had been people with advanced weaponry. Hydra, Steve recalled. Of course it was Hydra.. It was always Hydra. Then there was something about Tony. Tony had done something stupidly heroic and Steve had needed to stop him, Steve’s brain supplied"
"...Tony."
Steve gets injured on a mission only to find that many memories are gone when he wakes up. His boyfriend is acting weird. His teammates are coddling him. He keeps finding out painful things that he almost wishes would stay forgotten. Could things possibly get any worse?

Summary
"Tony tried to ignore the shaking in his hands. He clenched his jaw and stood his ground, watching as Cap pulled his cowl off as he approached.
“What?” Cap questioned as he entered Tony’s personal space. “What did you say?”
The emotions conjured by the image in front of him were just as unwanted as the goosebumps, but who could blame him? He wanted nothing more than to press his lips against Steve’s just like he had that first time two months ago."
Somehow Tony always finds a way to look a gift horse in the mouth. There's only one way for him to find sleep at night and he'll have to come to terms with some unwanted emotions in order to finally get rest and get Steve.
Part 2 of "Like the Old Man Said" Series. Can be read alone, but makes more sense following Slumber.
