Summary
Gilbert left for Toronto and Anne left for Queens. The letters they wrote confessing their love for one another were never to be seen. Diana and Gilbert's path never crossed on the train that day because Gilbert left a day earlier than planned to make his journey to Toronto less stressful. However eight months later Anne discovers Gilbert was never actually engaged to Winifred at all and therefore wasn't married. Four years come to pass and they have only seen each other twice. Now Anne returns to Avonlea engaged to be married herself to Roy Gardener but it just so happens Gilbert Blythe arrives too and this time they no longer try to avoid one another. Will they finally communicate their love for one another or will they realize they have drifted even further apart? Will Gilbert arrive with a surprise of his own? Anne and Gilbert have only just had their private moment on Miss Stacey's porch. They realized they made a good T.E.A.M and for a moment they looked at one another's lips and the world seemed to stop. Anne runs away but not before admitting Winifred is a lucky gal. They have finally found one another & now they must part. Gilbert is going to the university of Toronto & Anne will remain at Queens. Their only communication will be via love letters which they both take great enjoyment in writing to keep their love and passion for one another alive. Gilbert reaches Toronto & he meets many wonderful & eccentric characters who lead on to help him on his path to become a great doctor. Toronto is a far cry from the small town of Avonlea and Gilbert must face new challenges the city has to offer in order to succeed.
Meanwhile Anne is also meeting new friends, new teachers and discovering new things about herself. Her passion for writing is effervescent which leads to a new and exciting opportunity on the horizon. Will she be able to cope with the distance between them or will she venture to call on Gilbert as her desire for him takes over.
Now Gilbert has had a taste of Anne will he to be able to control his passion for her now they are miles apart?

Summary
Anne & Gilbert are discovering new feelings for one another and are not entirely sure what to do with them. They come upon an opportunity to spend more time together when Miss Stacey asks them to visit the local mikmak village. The fun really starts when Gilbert drinks something he shouldn't and something happens between them that changes their relationship forever.
Anne's self doubt and Gilbert's inability to be honest about his feelings leads to many moments of miscommunication but will they tell each other how they feel just in time before he leaves for university or will they miss their chance?
