    Summary

Atlantic sirens have been poached to the brink of extinction. Crowley is the last of his kind — or, that's what his human carer Eve always told him, anyway.

Against all odds, another siren is spotted on a remote island, in wild and unruly waters. Together, they are the last hope for their species, but Crowley isn't the only one on the hunt…

(A re-imagining of the siren AU I wrote for Mermay a while back, now with more peril and a better plot! At least in my humble opinion. You don’t need to read the previous version to understand this fic, this is not a sequel. Always read the tags)

    Summary

Ah, he doesn’t want to do this. But he needs to say something, because if he doesn’t, Stede is bound to feel some sort of way about being left to discover Izzy’s disappearance all on his own. And so he settles himself onto the bed with a groan, his knee choosing that particular moment to begin to rebel—“Is that you, Ed, darling?”

“Yeah…” He breathes. Fuck, he’s pretty sure that Izzy has never made this much noise when sitting or laying down. He’d sooner die.

“Is everything alright?” Stede emerges from the bathroom enveloped in a cloud of floral-scented steam. All it takes is one quick look at Ed’s face to know that everything is not, in fact, alright. Getting right down to it, he asks, “…Is this about Israel?”

“Yeah…” Ed is reluctant to offer anything more by way of explanation, especially when Stede’s expression shifts to one of outright concern. “He, uh… He’s missing. Took off in the middle of the night, nobody’s quite sure when.” The look on Stede’s face might be comical, under other circumstances. Right now, it just twists Ed’s stomach up into all sorts of ugly little knots.

    Summary

The first time Ed laid eyes on Stede Bonnet, he was a shock of obnoxious blue satin sitting out the back of some smoky tent, head resting on his pulled-up knees, and he looked maybe three minutes away from puking up a storm.

It's June of 1978, and Fleetwood Mac are about to headline the world-famous Stinson Festival. Stede's unfortunate consumption of multiple dosed-up brownies is not as funny to him as it is to the Badminton twins. At least there's a kind stranger there to help. Before long, it's clear there's more between them than a bottle of water and some kind words - but of course it's never as easy as that, and Ed doesn't know how to tell the sweetest, strangest man in San Francisco who and what he really is.

    Summary

Stede and Ed meet as kids. Which would be perfectly normal, if Stede was a normal kid and Edward wasn't a kraken (not a mermaid, he would repeat as many times as needed, angrily).
It's a secret, and friends have secrets.

Gets harder when you grow up though.
