Summary
Because of course next to the fucking Lonestar Inn is a Western themed bar unironically named “The Bull’s Eye.” The sign boasts “everything bigger in Nebraska!” which Clint is fairly certain is not true, and even more hilariously, a sign that had at one point advertised mechanical bull riding, but someone’s spray painted a top to the “u” and now the sign boasts “ball riding” as an attraction.
What the fuck is Nebraska, really?

Summary
Ethan's never really had a problem with compartmentalizing. He's always been good at storing emotions and feelings away for later, to look through when he can, and he does the same for experiences, good or bad. He's always been able to shut away the worst parts of the life that he's chosen for himself, the one he keeps choosing for himself.
So the PTSD is a bit of a surprise, really. Still, he can deal with it. He'll manage, like he always has. What he can't deal with is knowing how it affects Will, the distress and anxiety Will has to deal with on his behalf. And he knows that shutting himself off from Will in order to protect him from all of it is a bad idea, and it will come back to bite him in the ass, but he can't help himself.
After all, if he hadn't failed at protecting Will before, none of this would have happened anyway.

He isn’t in the habit of picking up strays and he isn’t about to start now. He remembers enough of a life from many years ago to know that picking up trouble-prone blonds isn’t a habit he ought to be falling back into.
Unfortunately, trouble finds him anyway.
He’s cutting down the side-street that leads to the shop when he hears the sickening sound of fist-on-skin contact, and he rounds the corner to find tall-blond-and-trouble in a literal back-alley brawl with four guys nearly as big as he is. They’re wearing black and white-striped Adidas tracksuits, and Bucky hears at least one of them call the blond guy ‘bro’ in a thick Russian accent.
Bucky’s not going to get involved.
He’s not going to get involved, right up to the point that one of the tracksuit thugs pulls a gun out of the back of his pants and releases the safety, and Bucky realizes that he is going to get involved because he’s not going to let anybody get shot in broad daylight if he can help it.
Fuck’s sake.
OR - escaped, former assassin Bucky Barnes accidentally makes friends with a blond disaster. It goes about as well as expected.
