Just because you're an Avenger doesn't mean that you're invincible. Depression doesn't discriminate and sometimes it breaks us down. Thank god Bucky knows how to help take care of you and remind you that even though you're enhanced, you're also only human.
There are some nights when Stiles can't sleep, when his condition gets the better of him. Derek is always there to help.
Stiles has been slipping and no one has cared, until now. Scott comes to make amends.

Bucky Barnes suffered from depression before he joined the army, and when he came back, he suffered tenfold. Steve Rogers painted his nightmares and didn't talk about how he lost his leg. Natasha believed it was possible -- just maybe -- that broken people could help heal one another.

Bucky's got his memories and his life back. Steve should be happy. Why isn't he?
The last couple times Natasha had been around to check on Bucky, she’d tossed around the idea that maybe he should get a tattoo to cover up the burns. She and Steve both knew he was sensitive about it, usually not even willing to look at it; most days, it was so bad to the point that he showered with a t-shirt on. So covering up his mutilated skin made sense, right?

Bucky is 37 years old; he’s unmarried, hasn’t had a Sub of his own, is definitely not ripped, comfortable at his job as an Advanced Practice RN at Brooklyn General ER, and just got his Five Years coin from AA.
Steve is 26 years old; he’s unmarried, his last and only Dom has Alzheimer's, he's worryingly muscular, uncomfortable in his job as the government’s poster Alpha for masculinity and strength, and worries more than he should about his BMI.
Unfortunately, Steve and Bucky meet initially in a not-cute moment. Bucky’s tired as shit thanks to the sudden alien invasion that shook New York and Steve is tired as shit because he hasn’t slept more than 20 minutes at a time in – well, since 1936, probably. Bucky’s Alpha instincts get irritated at the sudden presence of another "Alpha" into his territory and Steve’s suppressed submissive tendencies latch onto this grumpy bachelor Alpha and he only suppresses it further.
Bucky’s grumpiness and Steve’s duckling impressionism aside, both of them are a mess. But since both of them are a mess? Their messes seem to fit pretty well together.

a series of technically unconnected works that have nothing to do with one another but have underlying notes that rhyme. subtle twists that seem familiar the further you go along, words that prompt déjà vu, plots that leave you asking questions of what if, only to find out that, oh, what if has been answered in another tale. the alternate universes of alternate universes, the plot is different but the premise is the same. the hurt is always bitter and the love is always sweet. or so the rhymes go.
aka, steve is an omega and it's inconvienient
