    Summary

    A man named Cas wakes up in 2003 with no memories, but he's able to piece together a few things:

    1. Supernatural creatures exist, and most of them will hurt innocent civilians if he doesn't stop them;
    2. He has abilities that no human hunter should have, but he knows enough about human hunters to keep that to himself, and finally;
    3. He keeps running into another hunter named Dean Winchester, who seems to be about as lonely as he is if he's willing to put up with those former facts long enough to help Cas unravel the mystery of who (or what) he really is.

    For his part, Dean's still (not) dealing with Sam's departure to Stanford, and figures distracting himself with a bit of mystery and intrigue is as harmless as it gets, right? Right.

    Summary

    A 14.13 Lebanon rewrite. When Dean uses a wish-granting pearl to try and kill the archangel Michael before he can escape the cage in Dean's head, they instead wind up with a newly-resurrected John Winchester.

    It's been more than a decade since John died, and a lot has changed: Mary is alive, Sam and Dean have what passes for a proper home in the Men of Letters Bunker, and they're living with angels. John doesn't know angels are real, he doesn't know about the fragile new relationship between Dean and Castiel, and most of all, he doesn't know that Dean said yes to Michael, or that Dean's plan to defeat Michael would send him to a fate worse than death.

    Now Dean must contend with both his father asking questions he can't answer, and his loved ones learning about the darker truths of his childhood, all while constantly battling the archangel trapped inside him. But Dean coming to terms with his history may be the difference between this being the beginning of a journey—or the end.

    Summary

    Sam had guarded his speech like it was a nuclear football, and Dean had been as determined as a Mission Impossible villain to get ahold of it, not because he didn’t trust his brother, but because he just thought he had a right to know what would be said.

    Despite his best efforts, Dean hasn’t managed to see a single word of Sam’s toast, and while he’s not exactly worried about it—he couldn’t be worried about anything today, it’s all too perfect—he still wishes he could prepare himself a little bit ahead of time.

    When the time comes and Sam starts speaking, nothing could have prepared him.

    Summary

    “What’s wrong with you?” She asks.
    Castiel frowns in confusion, not sure if it’s an accusation or something more general.
    “You’re not--” She gestures vaguely at him, and realization dawns. Of course. She's a vessel. She can perceive an angel’s true form.
    Or lack thereof.
    “I’m… human now,” He admits.
    Her eyes narrow, and he sees her flick her wrist. The blade of a small pocketknife catches the light. “If I stabbed you right now, you’d die, wouldn’t you?”
    He nods. He doesn’t try to shout for help, or move. He just sits. And waits.
    He deserves this. Of all his many crimes, it feels right that he should die for this one, for what he’d done to one little girl and her family. It almost makes him smile. A very angry teenaged girl can do what the united forces of a fallen heaven hasn’t managed.
    But Claire Novak puts the knife away.
