After the war is finally over and Sauron defeated, Gimli and Legolas have the time to actually discover their deep love for each other. But though the dangers of the monsters constantly chasing them are ended, and they are free to explore the glittering caves of Helm's Deep and the Fangorn forest, there are many other things that can get in the way of their relationship. With both feeling such deep ties to their respective cultures, they don't know if their families and societies would every accept their love and allow them the peace they deserve.

Summary
