    Summary

“Uh…” Morgan hesitates. “Peter can’t come to the phone right now.”
    Tony frowns. “Why’s that?”
“He’s throwing up,” she says simply.
“Morgan!” he hears Peter groan irritably in the background.
“What?” she demands, speaking away from the phone now. “You told me to talk to him for you, so I am.”

Or: Peter gets sick while babysitting Morgan at the lake house and Tony is a Worried Dad™ about it.

    Summary

As he races closer, Tony winces at the knowledge that Peter had to have already hit the pavement-- that he was too late. But when Tony finally gets around the last corner, he sees that no-- Peter didn’t hit the pavement. Instead, the scene that greets him is somehow inconceivably worse.

Rather than landing on the cement - which would have been bad enough - Peter had landed on a fence. An old, rusting, wrought iron spiked fence.

    Summary

Len took a moment to collect his thoughts, pursing his lips and sucking on his teeth to refrain from sighing heavily. Jim was in no state to hear the full scale of his lecture on health and bad decisions, not now.

He had a guilt complex a mile long, and had for as long as Len had known him. Hell if he knew what to do about it, but right now it was taking its toll.

He was exhausted. He was making himself sick. And he looked so damn defeated.

    Summary

Tony is clearly really upset, the kind of upset that Peter’s only seen the likes of a couple of times, and it’s too close after everything happening to really talk about it. He can definitely see that now. “I’m sorry,” Peter says. “I’m sorry, I should have answered—”

“Yeah, you should have answered!” Tony yells. His bottom lip is trembling and he shakes his head, his eyes wild. He runs his hand over his forehead.

“Okay, okay, I’ll know for next time,” Peter says. He doesn’t know what’s gonna make this better. Probably nothing.

“There better not be a next time,” Tony says, dropping his hand from his face. “God, like this? Pete, no one knew where he was but you, and you—you kept it that way so nobody knew what the hell was happening, and you—you weren’t answering, kid, and that asshole sent me all that shit plucked directly from my nightmares, and I was trying to be strong for May because she was worried, too, and you—and you, I—I thought I wasn’t gonna ever—I thought—Jesus, Peter, you don’t think, you don’t—”

Tony bends over, clutching at his arm and breathing hard through his mouth.

    Summary

And that was it. He was officially an idiot. Peter didn’t mean to be dramatic, but this was one of the most embarrassing things to ever happen to him, even if there was no one around to witness the fall of the century.
    --
Peter goes web-slinging in dangerous weather and gets seriously injured. It doesn't help that he has to spend the whole summer living with the consequences.
