    Summary

The worst part is that, this time, Jackson actually didn’t do a damn thing to cause trouble.

At twenty one, he’s enough of an adult to admit that he’s been the source of the majority of his problems over the years.

It’s called personal growth and he’s pretty damn proud of himself for getting where he is now.

But, seriously, this time, he really didn’t do anything.

This is far from perfect. It's written in a rather juvenile voice and the pacing is very rushed. It's also kind of predictable. However, it's still a fun ride with lots of over the top angst, fluff and best of all, a delicious vengeance as slowly everyone who wronged Stiles gets their comeuppance. It was silly but still a joyous read.

    Summary

“Stiles, uh. You know I’m totally on your side? Like, I’ll never not be on your side, ever. But you know that weed’s kind of different for werewolves, right?”

Stiles mashes his face into Scott’s chest, tries to burrow down under the comforter. Scott sighs, pulls back and waits until Stiles is looking at him.

“I know. Just—don’t try and make me be the adult here,” he says, hates the plaintive tone his voice has taken on.

“He’s happy, Stiles. And I can’t believe you’d ever think I’d do that to you, buddy,” he says, ruffling Stiles's hair with a grin as Stiles slaps his hand away and hunkers down again, his ear against Scott’s chest, their feet tangled together.

Derek Hale comes back to Beacon Hills stoned and happy. Stiles tries not to resent him for it, and mostly fails.

    Bookmarker's Notes

When I first began reading this fic, it was making me mad. First because the writing is that kind of writing that's a little too poetic. Like the author wants you to perhaps feel a step behind. Like it's going over your head. Or like the author is trying to get you to make connections and figure the story out from dialogue that's actually not very leading.

But there was another thing making me mad. Derek. I was mad at him. And funny enough, as the story moves forward, and you start to fall into the cadence of the writting., As you start to get the references the author makes, and it reads smoother, I found out I was angry at Derek for the same reasons that Stiles was. Admittedly that was really immersive. I very much understood Stiles. And when he came to realize how unfair he was being to Derek, so too did I. Yes, I was mad that Derek got happier without Stiles there to help, without Stiles there to see it. Without ME, the reader, there to see it. But in the end you're just happy that he is happy. And there's more to this story than bongo drums, so I got over it. And got to enjoy the slip slide into love. It's actually a very pretty little tale. I recommend you give it a read.

Stiles hates being left behind with Peter while the pack is fighting monsters, because he never knows exactly what Peter will get up to.

Ok I know this is steter, not sterek, but hear me out. I haven't read such a truthful, lengthy and engrossing relationship building from enemies to lovers to "in love" story in...ever? Ever. So worth a read. I did NOT expect how good this was. So hot and so emotional. It's good. Check it out.

    Summary

His father wasn’t stupid. He was an officer of the law, trained to look for patterns. He confronted Stiles about werewolves and they shouted and Stiles tried to explain but his father was so, so, so mad, more mad than Stiles had ever seen him, ever in all his life and then his father looked at him and said,

“It’s like you’re not my son anymore.”

    And Stiles broke.

    Bookmarker's Notes

This is a sterek classic that I'm rereading after a few years. This is an epic tale worthy of being a published and recognized novel. It stretches it's story over about ten years in time, though there is a time jump of 7 years in the middle. But the author makes that up to you. Ten fold. Stiles is so in character. And so relatable. You really hurt for him and feel joy for him and take pride in his strength and ability. Admittedly there is not a whole lot of focus on the sterek aspect of this story. But it's so rich in storytelling and Stiles' growth as a person, his breaking and subsequent rebuilding, that you don't truly miss it. More than being a story about Stiles and Derek, this is just a really excellent story about Stiles. if you haven't already read this, which I suspect, if you are reading sterek stories, that you have, then this is a must-read. As good as any book I've ever picked up off of a shelf, if not better. This story is a gift.
