Short stand alone that shows some really solid and creative worldbuilding, and skill at adapting material into a new context.

    Bookmarker's Notes

An equal parts hilarious, heartwarming and serious series detailing post-Homecoming life for Peter and Ned, as seen through the eyes of Principle Ken Morita. It's an excellent example of POV outsider used to terrific effect, and it touches on aspects of the superhero world that are heavy topics without getting dragged down or dark. Definitely a recommended read to anyone who enjoyed Homecoming.

    Summary

Once, hidden in the dark and uncharacteristically intimate for both of them, Raphael had mimicked Simon’s movement in bed, inch by inch, like a game. Simon burst out laughing, pulling an outlandish face, and gripped Raphael’s chin. Raphael reached out and pinched his chin in return.

They lifted each other’s faces, moving it left and right, leaned in and pressed their foreheads together. They let go and traced a finger slowly from their collarbone to their belly button.

Like a challenge, they held each other’s eyes, all traces of humor gone.

For a little while, Simon and Raphael felt as if they were mirrors of some kind. Opposite, but the same.

Soon after, though Simon hadn’t made the connection, the first flicker of blue had appeared.

This is a really beautifully written and well thought out work, and while the pairing is obviously central it still felt bigger than just that.

    Summary

A group of elves, with a young Legolas among them, are sent out from Greenwood to Rivendell on an important mission. War is brewing and treachery is near at hand. The journey is long and perilous. The courage of the travellers will be put to a test, and Legolas will learn that when the wise and mighty are unwilling to take up the fight, others must take it up instead - even though they may not think they are strong or brave enough.

    Bookmarker's Notes

This story is both very creative, very adorable and yet not at all saccharine. The characters are interesting and well written, and the plot line is unique without feeling bizarre or absurd.

    Bookmarker's Notes

One of my favourite re-writes for the BofA portion of the Hobbit, it's heartfelt, action packed and very well written. Thranduil is a standout, but the OC elves and the other canon characters - Bard, Bilbo, Gandalf, Legolas - are all equally strong and sympathetically written.
