Summary
Times are lean for Cad Bane, living in the margins of a once-stunning reputation. A deal he made with a Jedi is amounting to nothing more than silence and solitude. But news smashes into the Outer Rim like a cannon shot: the Separatists have invaded the Duro sector in a catastrophic push. The Galactic Core is in a panic. The Duros people are crushed.
And the Jedi? Obi-Wan Kenobi? Well, they all have a hundred other concerns, don’t they?
Duro, of course, is no longer Bane’s home, so if opportunities should arise from this situation… that’s perfect. He can return and do business. A Duros of his skillset ought to be in high demand.
This isn’t personal. It’s fine.
He’s fine.

Obi-Wan Kenobi is a Jedi with countless regrets. However, forging a shameful secret with the notorious Cad Bane while undercover… it actually wasn’t one of them.
He wishes it was. What sort of man does that make him now?
After all, something inside has started to crack. Perhaps that’s why he isn’t even surprised when a certain bounty hunter surges back into his life, dead set on turning his calamitous fall into fortune… and on making the Jedi suffer that did him wrong.
