Summary
Going into heat was nothing new to Amity. She'd gone through the process at least once a year for the past three years. Her first time going through it was hard, which was to be expected as she was only fourteen, but it wasn't completely unbearable. Her parents simply brought her to a room in the manor designed specifically for times like that and she stayed there for the week that it lasted. Fifteen came and went, and Amity had come to terms with the fact that this would be her routine for the foreseeable future. She was okay with that.
...Then the human came. At sixteen years old, Amity Blight met Luz Noceda.

Summary
When your whole life has been built upon a lie, you can’t escape it, you have to face it, endure it. That’s what Amity Blight believed. Bite the bullet and keep your chin up. It’s a mantra she knows a bit too well now. Yet, she can’t help it. It’s a life she despises and it’s more and more difficult to hide her true nature. She just wants to be able to breathe.
What she didn’t expect is that during her summer vacation, lost in the middle of a state forest in Connecticut, a random park ranger would make her reconsider all of her life decisions. And prove to her that, even the fraud she is, still deserves kindness.
