“Liz.”
Liz turns immediately at the urgency in Skip’s voice, keeping Agnes in her peripherals while taking in Skip’s grim expression, the burner phone clutched in his hand.
“What?” she demands, the back of her neck starting to prickle.
“They couldn’t stop it in time.”
Set between 8.07 and 8.08. Liz executes another plot (a la The Freelancer plane near-disaster) but this time things don't go quite according to plan when Red gets caught in the crossfire, making her start to question her motivations and wishes. Just an angsty plot bunny that wouldn't leave me alone. Lizzington. One-shot.

Liz reached out and turned on the lamp on the side table, hoping Red wouldn’t see the way her fingers shook. Dembe met her gaze across the room and held it for a long moment before he holstered his gun and disappeared into another part of the apartment without a word. He had been fed up with the way they kept secrets from each other for years now; this was just the latest in a long line of truths whose time had finally come.
