She took it, and he helped her to hop over the fence, steadying her as she found her feet on the uneven ground of the ring. “I’ll not go easy on you, you know; I had planned something a bit more strenuous for the evening. Intense, even. You’d prefer us both conscious for it, that much I can promise you.”
“Then I needn’t fear losing,” she purred as she flicked open the straps at her hip, taking her hilt in hand. “It seems as though we both have the same ultimate goal, and one way or another, the night will happily end with you in bed.”
