I'm an over-educated professional who does much of her writing on planes.
I've been a Star Trek fan since forever, and am convinced that Voyager is by far the best of the five ST series in terms of character development and interaction, even if the writers let us down on occasion. My stories focus on Tom Paris, who in my view is not only the most multi-faceted character in all of Trek, but also the one with the strongest arc -- the true "Voyager" of the series.
My post-Endgame universe joins my first love (TNG) to my second (VOY). It's not quite the utopia Gene Roddenberry saw in the 1960s, but a universe that contains Cardassians, Romulans, the Dominion and the Borg and grapples regularly with issues such as genocide, ethnic cleansing, war crimes and political intrigue is really not that cheery, is it?
Happened when I wasn't looking. Saw the movie, was blown away and found that yet more damaged characters had wormed their way into the part of my brain where the urge to write resides. Clint Barton doesn't get a lot of lines in the film, but boy does Jeremy Renner let this professional killer's intensity burn off the screen. Black Widow? As BAMFy as she is mysterious. And their relationship? Fascinating. Chemistry? Combustible.
I have no issues with transformative things like podfic or remix, but please send me a heads-up and a link so I can squee appropriately!
