Summary
⌜"This was heaven for the guilty and Chinatown was merely a playground. It terrified him. The mere fact that no amount of pistol wounds, hijacked cars or bruises made him any more of a man in front of a woman clad in a skimpy leather suit leading him into a tavern of intoxication. He eyes her men, each man built differently yet perfectly to cater to each and every taste. He told himself he'd only look- nothing more beyond the world he'd made for himself, but coming across the third man from the right, his river of dark hair loosely gathered in cherry red string, eyes like ice, cold but glistening accompanied by a thin smile, he knew he had lost.
Sometimes man is their own serpent, trying to find excuses for things they really wanted deep inside. "⌟
Sing Soo-Ling leaves the comforts of Chinatown and ventures into the red-light district of New York on his twentieth birthday. He merely came to observe, but stumbling upon Lee Yut-Lung, an impossibly beautiful but lost man, he finds himself unable to leave so easily.

Shorter raises his hands defensively, “You guys have something,” he says shrugging.
Ash stops short in his tracks, “What do you mean?” he asks, his face set in curiosity.
Shorter stops a few steps ahead of Ash and turns to face him, “Come on man, you look at him like he hung the moon and all the stars up in the sky,” he replies.

“Where should you be right now?” No hello, no pleasantries. But that was Yut-Lung for you.
Sing looked up at him and shrugged his shoulders. He didn’t really have another answer. It looked like Yut-Lung was about to say something more, possibly to lecture him about how late it was, or how he shouldn’t walk to his house at almost midnight, or how he could have just called. SIng thought that those were all justified lectures. But he didn’t.

Yut Lung purses his lips. One cheek dimples into a curving pain. Then he unpurses them and shuts his eyes. Even in Sing’s grief, some things carry on: as always, Yut Lung’s eyelashes fan out like the charcoal markings on an albatross. “I was wondering about your brother,” he murmurs.

But before Sing walks away, he jerks his thumb over his shoulder, to the left, to the left. Yut-Lung’s eyes follow along to the left. He sees what Sing wants him to see: the vase in the corner, the dead blooms stooping low their heavy heads. Their petals were so lush that they haven’t dried and shriveled, but have rotted like fruit. It must smell like a saccharine death, made worse by Yut-Lung’s cloak of wine. Yut-Lung is almost embarrassed, but he’s ultimately too drunk for the usual dose of shame.
“Ah, yeah,” says Yut-Lung. “Yikes.”
“Yikes,” agrees Sing.

BUDAPEST, HUNGARY
“Lynx and Okumura are en route to Vienna via freight train, with another twenty million and more incriminating information stolen from Croatian syndicates,” Yut Lung lazily sprawled over him like a large cat, his hair fanning out on Sing’s bare chest as he typed into his laptop on the side. “It's like your modern day Bonnie and Clyde. Kings of the underworld.”
“I wouldn't be so sure,” Sing scrutinised the photo on Yut Lung’s screen, his cigarette smoke blurring Okumura’s fearful expression, his mind replaying the way Lynx had cried out his name. “Remember Athens? In Tartarus we had a standoff. Half a second in, I realised Okumura still had the safety on.”
