Five Times Dean and Cas Could've Kissed (and One Time They Really Did) by slasher48

Summary
The title really says it all.
Each kiss takes place in its own alternate, canon-divergent universe (except, of course, the last one, which takes place in ours). They are not all in the same universe, is my point.

“Yeah, I am selfish. Because I know that you’re gonna be down there, all alone in the dark, and you’re gonna forget me. Michael is gonna break your soul and I won’t be there. I can’t stitch you up this time. I can’t bring you back.”

Summary
Jared goes back home after the utter disaster that was filming that night, and can't sleep. Thankfully, Jensen is right there to remind him that he's got people looking out for him - and that family always has your back.

The ending scene in Prophet and Loss is one of my favorite out of the whole show, and knowing the backstory behind it makes me appreciate it even more. After watching a convention video where Jared shares his struggles shooting it, my brain came up with this.

Dean was able to convince Sam to go along with his plan of locking Michael (and Dean) away in the ma'lak box and dumping it in the Pacific Ocean. Sam gave in to Dean then, but he never gave up searching for another way to save Dean and the rest of the world from Michael. Now that a group of deep sea researchers have stumbled upon the box, Sam is about to find out if he put the reprieve to good use, and if they are all ready to face what is coming.

Summary
Silent.
The coffin is silent. The ocean is silent, save for the constant hum of pressure, which is almost worse.
Dean keeps his eyes shut. He breathes, tells himself he's gotta get used to this, he's gotta breathe, he's gotta calm down. But still he trembles, because the concept of forever—it's only this now.
This prison.Nobody's fault but his own.
Dean thought he could do this. But it's been barely a week and he's panicking. He's breathing, or at least he thinks he is, but no air is filling his lungs. He's just gasping uselessly, heart pounding too fast, mind scrubbed of everything except fear. Maybe there’s no air left at all.
Dean's phone is dead now, though he'd conserved it for as long as he could. It's so dark and so small in here, too small, and he's trapped, trapped forever in here.

Summary
Weeks had gone by since Michael reneged on his pledge and took possession of Dean permanently; since he’d begun waging his war against humanity and the earth, killing without remorse or restriction; since Dean had, through sheer strength of will, slammed the door on the archangel in his mind. He was still holding that door shut, but growing ever more desperate, to the point that he seriously considered the Ma’lak Box as the only solution available to him.
What if Cas did some research - and came up with an alternative to the Ma’lak Box, a ritual to eject Michael from Dean’s mind? Spellwork so powerful it ripped the archangel loose with the force of a heavenly cataclysm, destroying him in the process - and leaving behind terrible consequences for Dean?
Follow Cas and Sam's desperate cross-country search for Dean, and Dean's journey to find himself, his memories - and maybe find out what he really wants.
