“I was wondering if I could request a fic where you have eyes for Steve and Bucky tells you to go flirt with him, but Steve’s being an oblivious little butt and doesn’t get what you’re doing. So later you just tell him that you like him.”
Steve had always suspected that Bucky’s mattress was comfier than his. They both had queen-sized beds, the same model, bought at the same time, but Bucky had been a little too quick to pick his when he won the coin toss the first day they were roommates. He liked to tease Bucky about it, trying to make him do more chores because “You have the better bed!” Bucky would comply, sometimes, which only worked to confirm Steve’s suspicions.
But now, as Bucky gently pressed him into said mattress, tongue slipped inside his mouth, Steve knew for sure he had been right.
You and Steve are sent on a simple mission - clear out an abandoned Hydra archive. The two of you explore the joys of sharing a tiny space for a few days.

Huh, this was much more intense than the summary made it sound. I think I'd skipped it previously because I didn't know NCIS-LA. I still don't (I opened a character list, so I could match faces to names), and it didn't matter, they only appear in the first chapter and then they're gone forever.
The gist of it is, Steve pops off to Japan without telling Danny... after doing the same thing in North Korea. And then, after all the apologies (b/c Danny suffered bond separation symptoms), he does it AGAIN, in order to go learn that Shelbourne is actually his Mom. Meanwhile, Delano takes the opportunity to kidnap Danny.
Danny is 'scrubbed', a disturbingly violent cleansing because Delano wants him to break his bond to Steve and form a bond with him instead. Raw and bleeding in some places, Danny is then tortured for several days. (SPOILER: there is never actually any rape or breaking of the bond, but it's super-dicey there for a while... I was reading with one eye closed.) And then Delano loses patience and breaks out his big guns, a street drug known as Shackle, which is like roofies for Guides, to force him into leaving Steve and bonding with him. The mind games he plays are upsetting because he keeps grounding them in truth, like how can Steve love you, he keeps leaving you alone.
Meanwhile, Steve is frantically trying to find Danny, and as the days pass, he can feel their bond growing weaker....
