Summary
Tom Jopson never desired an interesting life. He served King Francis. He daydreamed about the day he would be able to marry Edward Little, the man he had loved since childhood — a childhood spent in a town that believed him to be a girl, despite the fact that he knew otherwise.
And yet was happy, he thought — or at least something close to it — serving and dreaming and pretending to be someone he wasn’t. But then came the King’s despair, leaving him unfit to rule. Then came Sir John, with his heavy taxation policies and brutal hand over the people. Tom’s careful peace had begun to fall apart, and he was forced to take matters into his own hands.
With the Sheriff of Nottingham on his tail, only a handful of other criminals and one of the Sheriff’s own deputies on his side, and the man he loves stuck in the castle under Sir John’s control, Tom is left with only one option: see his home set free, or die trying.
Written for The Terror Big Bang 2023
A trans, polyamorous Robin Hood retelling.

Summary
It started like this:
Francis— belligerent, bullheaded, half-cut most of the time— was increasingly spending all night in his office. James found him there, glassy eyed, late one night as he was finalising some project for Sir John. The older man’s head tilted to one side, not in sleep, nor in contemplation, but merely misery and drunkenness. James felt a surge of anger and, below that, want: want that rose thick in the back of his throat until he thought he would be sick with it.

Summary
Where is everyone else?” James asked after a few moments of them staring at each other in silence.
Francis continued to stare at him, as if he was trying to remember how to speak. Or perhaps speak English, by the looks of him. “Gone,” he eventually croaked.James Clark Ross stumbles upon Francis and brings him home.

Summary
"Edward Little’s personhood and desires are neatly stowed away at the bottom of his sea-chest, to be retrieved once his work is done and he is back to months of languishing on half-pay. He hadn’t expected this expedition to go any differently.
He may not be a foolhardy man, but he is a man. There is only so much misery he is capable of enduring without even the littlest reprieve."Edward Little broods, goes on walks with a First Mate, and has a terrible Spring Break 1847.

“I’m sorry,” Francis said. “I’ve caught you at a bad time.”
“Yes,” she agreed, twisting the back onto a gold hoop, “you have. But as it’s you, Professor, I’ll allow it.”

Summary
"James Fitzjames does not know where to look first.
The shiny, soft bear fur. The shining sword clasped in a strong hand. The sharp jaw. The glamorous curls. The dark eyes. It is almost overwhelming. He idly rubs his sweating palm against his navy blue trousers. His gaze settles on the hands."

Summary
Crozier and Ross have a bit of a misunderstanding.
“I know you don’t like to be the center of attention,” James said, stepping forward to stand beside him, looking out at the garden with it’s new, spring buds.
Francis laughed, and shook his head. “I hate it,” he said. “I don’t know how you can tolerate all those eyes on you, all those questions. Knowing they’re going to talk about you later, dissect everything you said…”

Summary
Thomas hadn’t wanted to walk away from Lucien the way he had, with accusations flung with intent to hurt just to ensure the man wouldn’t follow. Part of him had understood that Lucien’s desire to keep him sheltered from his work and provide him with a home and income stemmed from a desire to keep him safe, but Thomas valued his independence too much to leave himself completely at the whims of anyone else, particularly a man as dangerous as Lucien Grimaud.
