Everyone hates the fact that Kotaro's put up hidden cameras to market Franchouchou with domestic footage of them. It's annoying and weird the way he references conversations they've had that he wasn't actually a part of. But it's all for Franchouchou's future!!!! They need to be more daring and make bigger moves to save Saga faster!
It also means that nobody in Franchouchou can masturbate anymore because they aren't sure where these horrible hidden cameras are. Not that any of them will say that out loud. So they do the only smart thing to get their privacy back-sacrifice Sakura to make her go talk to him.
Afraid of disappointing Ai, Sakura obviously has no choice but to try psyching Kotaro out since he won't listen to reason. No. It has nothing to do with that she's sexually frustrated too.

Kotaro can't figure out what those zombie like groans are that are coming from the attic. To his intense horror, he walks in on Ai and Junko having sex. It is awkward and horrible for all.
Out of desperation to make sure they don't kill him for accidentally interrupting, he embarks on a quest to grovel, no, beg their forgiveness! His apologies though just make Ai and Junko even more embarrassed, especially when he's worrying for their safety.
Don't worry! What he saw will stay a secret between the three of them---Junko's and Ai's forbidden sexual relationship will remain a secret. Wait, he was the only one who didn't know about Ai and Junko's relationship!???? He was the one they were keeping it a secret FROM????
Kotaro was left entirely out of the loop.

In a more modern day, Junko is an accomplish idol with worldwide renown. Her successful career has allowed her to live comfortably doing what she loves and even bring her two close friends Sakura and Saki along for the ride with her. She's content with a life full of everything she could want or need. At least, that's what she thinks until one performance recommended by her best friend from an up and coming new group called Iron Frill changes everything. Suddenly she's afflicted with a torrent of new feelings she's never experienced before and her struggles to understand them lead her down a strange new pathway she hadn't even considered. It's a whirlwind of confusing emotions and scary new situations, but... it's not a predicament she can say she wholly dislikes either.

All of Franchouchou realizes it pretty suddenly, Kotaro Tatsumi has NO friends whatsoever. There is no one he regularly hangs out with besides Franchouchou, he has 0 social life, and that's actually a little sad. Perhaps he would be more normal if he had learned how to interact like a normal human being.
That combined with their intense pity for him, makes them decide to set Kotaro up on a play-date since he can't make friends for himself.
And that's how they set Kotaro up on a play date with Policeman A of all people.

Summary
Yugiri tried so hard to get Kiichi and Itou together, because she wished for her friends happiness more than anything. She had no clue that Itou was not suffering from some gay angst and was actually going to inflict tragedy on all of their lives. After helping couples communicate and advising people to find love most of her life, she is met with a crushing failure, that has cost her her life.
She hasn't tried any matchmaking since. But slowly she starts growing more comfortable in her new era and decides that she needs to redeem herself- For Itou's sake. And there is one person who she has set her sights on who reminds her of both Kiichi and Itou, at some points.
She will find happiness for Kotaro at least, since she couldn't find it for Itou.
