    Summary

The world was broken- split, divided, and in disarray. Everything was on it's head- the things people thought they once knew were gone, wrong and changed.

Yet their lives are far from ending, their stories not yet closed.

The Void isn't darkness, but the Void isn't light. The Void will never truly be understood or tamed, by anyone, you see...

The Void knows who it controls.

The Void knows what it deserves.

The Void knows when the times will change.

The Void knows where it will happen.

Yes, the Void knows why the world revolves the way it does.

And it knows that it is ever-spinning.

    ***

"Darkness isn't forever, though it may seem so.

Whenever shadows engulf your world, I will be your candle.

Don't forget, in your time of need, I am with you in the dark."

    Summary

It's a bit like Undertale, in that the characters are the same, and have all the same personalities and stuff. Except the monsters were never trapped underground. They work with humans, and in this particular case, they work with humans in a sturdy yet shitty little mining town.

The AU that no one asked for - and that is so obscure "Mining Town" AU doesn't even generally exist as a tag on AO3 across any fandom
Let me be the first to break that one in, shall we?

Un an que tu as disparu. Un an que nous te cherchons, persuadés que tu es mort. Un an et je te retrouve enfin, défiguré, fatigué de vivre, et avec ces mots, que tu répètes : « Ne dis rien, à personne. »

    Summary

Doctor Gaster was an interesting monster with interesting tastes. He was quite content to sit back in any corner of a room and watch the monsters around them live their lives, content to watch them muddle in their own little tiny mess and destroy each other and themselves. That was one of the reasons he was here tonight, in one of the most prestigious bars in the entire underground. Watching. But there was an even bigger reason for him to be here besides, one that struck his eye and his fancy every time he came here - the bar owner himself, a bright elemental as rare in form as he was in temper.
So instead of just watching, for a little bit, Gaster decided to play god. What better way to catch this fair creature's attention?

    Summary

11th Century A.D or so, in Ebott, Germany:

Dominik Vogel was a well-known doctor. High success rates were in his reputation. Humans and Monsters alike sought his help. Vogel, however, had other interests.

Ebott was a split kingdom. Monster's generally stuck to the far east of the mountain with their Monarchs, and the Humans stayed west, with their respective rulers. Neither were too fond of each others company. There was constant fighting on the kingdom's streets.

Vogel wanted to change that. For worse.

Meddling in dark magic and practicing his foreign skills, it would seem there is no hope for this estranged doctor.

But Asgore hasn't given up yet.

    Summary

The Royal Scientist had many projects he worked on at once. Though more often than not, the amount of work done on each project at any given time was disproportionate.
His projects were for Monsterkind and the Royal family (and once for himself).

He gave the Underground unlimited energy
He gave them an easy form of quick communication.
He worked to give the Dreemurr's adopted son a means to defend himself without magic.
He worked to destroy the Barrier.

He worked and worked until he was no more.

    Summary

There is a great divide between scientific research and ethical decisions. Most of what is done for science is horrible, but done for the greater good. What is misunderstood about us is that we’re mad, or psychotic. If our purpose is to do something to make the world a better place, in what way does that make us psychotic? Freedom always comes at a price; it does not matter how big or how small that sacrifice may be.

W.D. Gaster is a mad scientist. Not that he is mentally insane, but that everything in his life is pulled into his experiments. He is working to allow monster kind to be freed. The problem is, he doesn’t know how to execute his integrity well.

What we do in this lab… it’s horrific. But only the three of us have experienced how terrible these outcomes can be. One day, we will be free. I know it. That is what my boss always tells me. I still believe it. We just need one successful test. No matter how long it takes, monster kind should never lose hope.

I don't know why humans are so afraid of monsters. Humans should be educated on how monsters really are. As monsters, we have learned about the greater race. But as humans, they should muster up at least some patience to learn of the lesser kind.

    Summary

During the war between humans and monsters, monsters are troubled to find some elementals working on the side of the humans. When one of these "rouge" elementals is finally captured, Dr. W. D. Gaster is brought in to interrogate and question, only to find that thing's are not as simple as they'd seemed in his little office.

This is an unfinished piece that's been sitting in my Grillster Trash Document for almost as long as the document has been made. I feel bad for not having written anything in like... eons... and wanted to share with ya'll some of the stuff that will probably never be finished -- and this is one of them!

“The specimen has opened its eyes. It seems to be cognizant? After a few minutes of looking around it started to cry, and reached out with the apparent desire to be comforted.

It seems to have an actual, fully-functioning soul.

This is... unexpected. The plans will have to be modified.”

    Summary

The Underground was supposed to be a place of safety, but genocide followed the monsters down when one of their own turned on them. The King is dead. Gaster is in exile. Summary

These days the King is more interested in weird metaphysical biology than physics, which means that Dr. Gaster's project to build a decent generator is not only woefully underfunded, but he has to deal with cruddy technology short-circuiting and exploding constantly. He'll have to pick a team, and indicatively, one of the applicants only has one HP. And he blows up Gaster's office during their "interview."

May or may not contain: tea-drinking, depression, cats, anxiety, swearing, annoying dogs, death and near-death, gravity related injuries, conflicted Asgore, a non-Gaster Royal Scientist, crumbs of Toaster, humans, platonic Sanster, honorary science daughter Alphys, PICK UP YOUR SOCK SANS, unfriendly eldritch critters that don't like the monsters living in their caves, snarky fire elementals, monster souls and their curious properties, odd skeleton behaviors, magic malfunctions, and spatio-temporal displacement.

Gaster as a friendly derp boss monster physicist who for once isn't interested in breaking the Barrier.

Sans as an angst-ridden smol fragile marshmallow with malfunctioning magic.

Alphys as the voice of reason that Gaster does not internally have.

    Summary

A palette of souls lay trapped in jars, as the FINAL soul to break the barrier stepped forward, a brilliant red sheen in their eyes as thet ventured in their DETERMINATION.

Each soul before them had their own story to them. To FIGHT or to SPARE.

    Red.
    Orange.
    Yellow.
    Green.
    Dark Blue.
    Light Blue.
    Violet.

Lost to a long history of being trapped underground, only a few know their stories.

*Mr. Gerson?* Frisk quietly signed, hands trembling slightly. The tortoise looked at the child, ruffling the brown mop of hair the adorable kid sported. *You've been here a long time, right? There were other children before me? Do you know their stories?* The tortoise gave a weak, hoarse chuckle, thinking back to his old days. "Really, that's the only things I remember like the back of my hand. Sit down, have a free sea tea, because we're going way back."
