    Normally, Wei Ying is curled up next to Lan Wangji when he wakes at five. Wei Ying will be strewn about, soft limbs and dark hair fanned and sprawled, leg over Wangji's hip, arms wrapped tightly around his chest, and face pressed into his neck. Even in sleep, Wei Ying is a bundle of energy; he is always moving. Now, Wangji wakes to a cold bed, and no Wei Ying.

     

    A series of sleepwalking episodes leaves Wei Wuxian refusing to sleep, and Lan Wangji at his wit's end on how to deal with them. It appears, however, that it is anything but simple sleepwalking. And there is no telling just what may happen if the episodes are left unchecked.

    When Alpha Lan Wangji left Omega Wei Ying after defeating the Xuanwu, they had formed a partial mating bond together.

    Wangji thought they had an understanding. Then Wei Ying disappeared, and when he came back their bond seemed to have disappeared. The alpha was heart-broken; believing his omega had considered it an undesirable bond, causing it to break.

    But when he steals a kiss on Phoenix Mountain, he discovers that their bond wasn't broken after all... just weakened without a golden core making its presence obvious. Wei Ying did still want him - the omega just thought Wangji wouldn't want him once he found out what happened to his golden core.

    Wangji makes sure his omega understands just how wrong that assumption was.

    Wei Ying has a pretty okay life: a wonderful sister and nephew, his beloved brother who he'd die for, and a seemingly unrequited crush on his best friend. It's pretty standard: go to class, cry over his senior art exhibit, fight with Jiang Cheng over who busted their lock, place multiple reports on some guy following him, and make sure Wen Chao stays one hundred feet away from him. Life is pretty good. At least until the stalker problem starts and things go batshit.

    There is no "Ghost Army," just biding their time until the right moment to strike. Just a group of Wen Remnants trying to survive on land that was never suited for life. There is no "Demon of the Burial Mounds," just Wei Wuxian, trying his best to keep his new family alive while nearly starving himself in the process.

    Nie Mingjue thought he knew everything. Merely days ago he thought that sieging the Burial Mounds was the safest option if given a reason to do so. But meeting the Wen Remnants, and A-Yuan who affectionately calls him "Green-gege!" he realizes something vital.

    He was wrong, and he better do something to fix it before it's too late.
