I soldi erano sempre un problema. Gli sarebbe toccato strisciare da suo zio ad implorarlo di anticipargli trenta copeche, con la promessa che una volta pubblicata la sua prima raccolta si sarebbe sdebitato. Tuttavia tornare da suo zio per la seconda volta quel mese significava correre un grande rischio. Un fallimento dopo l'altro nel mondo della letteratura gli sarebbe valso un biglietto di ritorno per il suo paesino natale. Suo padre l'aveva avvertito. Con la poesia non ci si sfama, gli aveva detto. Avrebbe fatto meglio a laurearsi in medicina. Sarebbe tornato con un diploma in tasca e lo avrebbe preso come apprendista presso il suo studio. Non avrebbe visto un soldo finché non avesse abbandonato quel suo puerile capriccio letterario. Non un soldo!
Sua madre, fra un singhiozzo e l'altro, aveva pregato Fyodor di riguardarsi bene, di coprirsi in inverno, di bere quella schifezza di olio di pesce che suo padre gli rifilava durante i suoi attacchi. A prison AU, even though there is already a prison in canon and is very significant to the plot. ╮(￣▽￣")╭
Sugimoto is wrongfully convicted of murder, and bides his time in Hokkaido 7th Penitentiary, hoping that he can somehow get his name cleared, but also hoping that Asirpa won't blow her college fund on lawyers and legal advice. In walks a new guard, who seems like a jerk, and the two come to blows nearly immediately after meeting.
But then, of course, things always get weird, and never in the way you expect either.

Ogata lost an eye but got his worldview validated. But this does not erase the fact that he more than ever feels like he got trapped in a directionless maze with no way out. While trying to adjust to his injury Ogata realizes to his own surprise that an unexpected meeting with Tsurumi might be the thing bringing him back the sense of direction so painfully absent from his life.

Summary
Tsurumi is no stranger to enthusiastic lovers. The fact that he is surrounded by men who would surrender themselves instantaneously to him, both in death and sex, is no accident. For most of them, the latter is just a tantalizing possibility. Show them a taste of blood, make it pump loyal in their hearts and cocks, but never seal the deal. He is not immune to temptation, of course, but that is not the point.
The point is that Edogai puts their shamelessness to shame.
Set in that brief, blissful period of time where Tsurumi and Edogai find their cursed match in one another. -
