It was all so confusing, Tubbo’s entire life had been flipped on its side. Here he was, with a new family in a new house with so many new things– in all honesty, he didn’t fully understand what was happening. Everything felt different. The only thing that remained entirely constant was Dream and school. And he felt as if those could be taken away too at any moment. Almost everything else that Tubbo thought would be permanent no longer was– and maybe that was for the best, but why should he expect those things to stay the same too. It didn’t feel right. He missed what once was. Even if he knew he shouldn’t.

"Sorry." Tommy mumbles and empties his inventory into the hole that Dream created. He flinches as the TNT explodes, despite having experienced this exact scenario multiple times. He raises his eyes, staring in fear as the white of Dream's mask gains a tint of red from the fire. Dream turns his head slightly, catching Tommy lowering his eyes quickly.
"Now, what do you say to me for being so kind to you?"

Tubbo's body trembled, possibly from the cold, possibly from the fear, possibly from the possibility of freedom, of flight, that lay before him...Tubbo's first birthday without Tommy could also be his last.
Tubbo stood, walking towards the edge of the cliff, heaving his leg over the fence so that he stood past the fence so that if he ever decided to jump, there wouldn't be a piece of wood blocking him from doing that.
Now that he thought about it, dying here would be poetic. Dying on the day he turned seventeen. Dying where he had felt the most joy, the most warmth. Dying the same way Tommy did. Dying to join Tommy up there in the skies, the two of them, together, forever.
A soulmate is meant to accompany them for life. But when they are torn apart, both begin to break. One in particular breaks more.

Phil has 4 kids. Yeah, alot. First came Techno, silent and hard to understand. He helped him. Next there was Wilbur, who yelled and screamed, but he was really just a scared little boy inside. Lastly, there were the twins, Toby and Tommy. They were the hardest. Tommy acted confident, he would hit and kick, he was so protective of Toby. Toby just melted away in the background, playing with a toy bee.

The life of a sidekick isn’t glamorous. It’s being a henchman minus the law-breaking. Heroes get the glory, and villains can do whatever they want. Sidekicks are merely tools that are sometimes mentioned.
Tommy Innit, Tubbo Underscore, Ranboo Beloved, and Purpled (no-last-name-given) have the worst luck. The heroes they work under aren’t the best…. In the sense that they are physically and emotionally abused by the “good guys”.
When these four have a chance encounter at a cafe, they get an outlet for their messed up lives. Even better, they get adopted! Sort of! Not without loud complaining (Tommy-) -

He'd had a favorite cow--Henry--and made sure to milk and brush her every day. Ever since Henry was a calf, he wanted to learn how to care for her hooves so they wouldn't grow out too much.
He hadn't been alive for the Great War. It had ended two years before he was born, but he heard horror stories, and was more than thankful he wouldn't have to deal with getting drafted.
His life wasn't the best, but it certainly wasn't the worst! His parents weren't overly strict, and the worst punishment he ever got was being sent on outhouse duty, which was typically reserved for his father. He was sure he'd have gotten worse if he touched a drop of anny before he turned 15.
(Didn't even taste that good when his father offered him a drink at the age of 16. He supposed it tasted better the more you drank.)
Then the Great Depression hit.(Or, the ghost fic where Bench Trio each die in the same house ~30 years apart. SBI move into the house, and the ghosts are not pleased.)
