Can't remember the last time we had someone new." Toby considers this. "Nothing much exciting must happen then." He closes the locker shut, stooping to pick his bag up from the floor. Ran shrugs, if he only knew. "Well, that's all about to change." Toby says mischievously as he stands again. Ran laughs nervously, fiddling with the cord of his necklace. Toby scoffs, "I'm only joking big man, I'm as boring as boring can be!" He turns away from him, walking down a corridor they had yet to explore. Ran didn't believe for a second that Toby was 'boring', he'd only known him an hour and he'd already made him feel at ease, confused and startled all at once. He had a feeling that this one would be trouble. Or maybe, he'd never talk to him again; when Toby realises that he's a total loser with no friends to speak of.

Tommy looked up at a middle aged man, holding a bat and wearing some sort of police uniform. It was one of the "bird catchers", Tommy had heard of. "There you are.", the man said, slowly coming towards him. Tommy made a step back as the man swung his bat at him. He held his arms in front of him, to shield his body from the attacks. The next hit landed on his arms with such a force, that Tommy fell to the floor. Just as the man swung the bat again, something-, no, someone landed on his shoulders and pressed their thighs around his neck. They started hitting the man on the head and he fell to the floor.

This is just your average Winged Tommy Innit fic.
Tommy, an avian, was raised by humans. But when his classmates find out, that he is technically not one of them, he has to run away. He meets Wilbur, another avian, and stays with him, his brother and father until he can live with his parents again. But instead of going home, he gets dragged into family secrets and decides to change up some things about the way avians are treated.

Wilbur soot was a god. Not just a god, the only god in the world. He was all powerful, feared, respected and worshiped by all. Because of course, no one wants to be condemned to the torture that those who DARE even insult him. No wanted to participate in the deity's twisted 100 player challenges.
And then there was the Innits.
They had what some considered to be a death wish. Everywhere they went, anyone they met, they would actively insult and shit on the gods name. Statues and temples vandalized, sacrifices stolen and destroyed, hell even priests were attacked by the rebels.
For 20 years they committed crime after crime, offense after offense, and escaped every time.
And then they didn't.
And neither did their son, who is now hiding in a bush, scared out of his mind, and crying.
Wilbur is too tired for this.

A chill breeze ran through the house brushing past soft pink begonias and lilac alliums that sat serenely on the windowsill, their large vase allowing rainbows to twirl on the walls around them. Outside, the tree-line was beautiful; tall, bright oaks circled the clearing in which the small village lay, never wilting even on the coldest winter nights. The open window of the bedroom allowed warm, summer air to dance its way inside and the light of the sunset painted the walls with oranges and yellows.
A boy lay quietly on the bed, the house in which he rested had never felt like a home, pictures of people he barely knew stared down at him from their places on his walls and messy, colourful paintings betrayed his feelings if someone were to look close enough. The masterfully taken photographs told stories of happiness and laughter, while the child only felt resentment for their beauty. The naive child who had taken those pictures had long since died, replaced by a boy who felt nothing but loathing and hatred towards the people he once called family.
