    Summary

The Doctor is taking the newly-repaired TARDIS for a spin, bringing his family and some friends along for the ride. However, when the TARDIS stalls in the middle of the time vortex, the old blue box may not be quite as safe as the Doctor hopes. Old foes are rising. An unknown force is manipulating the TARDIS. It seems that time itself is being split. This time, it seems that even the Doctor might not be enough to save the day.

    Summary

Doctor Who drabbles featuring the Fifth Doctor and his crew.

My goal is to write at least one drabble for every piece of Fifth Doctor media I can get my hands on. While most drabbles are gap fillers for existing episodes, some are non-canon, standalone, or related stories. Most drabbles were written out of order and then reorganized chronologically from "Logopolis" to after "The Caves of Androzani." I may expand on some of these ideas later.

All drabbles are 100 words by AO3's count.

“I thought Rule One was ‘The Doctor lies.’”

He shakes his head. “Those are our rules,” he clarifies. “I mean, the rules for us, as in you and me.” He waves a hand between them self-consciously before sighing. “The Rules of Time are different. The consequences for bending – or breaking – them are different.”

Something in his tone must resonate with her. River glances down at the diary on her lap, smoothing her fingers over the cover. “This First Rule, the one that matters.” She meets his gaze again. “What is it?”

“The First and most Important Law of Time,” he tells her gravely, “is that you are expressly forbidden, in all circumstances, to interact with any of your other selves.”

She takes the pen he offers her, opening her diary to a blank page. He takes a moment to breathe.

“Let me explain to you why.”

But no one ever explains to them why.
