"Tony sleeps less then did he before and at this rate, they’re gonna need to start adding hours to the day. Somehow he saves himself and then Pepper and then the world.
He should probably see a therapist, at some point."
Tony is not okay.
Mentions of Pepper/Tony. Eventual Steve/Tony.

All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.
— JRR Tolkein, “All That Is Gold Does Not Glitter”
Then they chose sides and fought each other, and the Avengers broke, blown apart by anger and betrayal and ideological differences. An empire crumbled from the inside.
Now they draw back together, wounded and wary, trying to put the shattered remnants of their family back together.
Multi-chapter companion piece to Done and Sine Qua Non, each chapter a different member of the Avengers, as they consider (or don't) the parts they played in their civil war.

The Avengers do not like fireworks. Tony is determined to help through any means necessary.
In the aftermath of the devastation that Ultron caused, Steve Rogers finds a ray of hope. He succeeds in his mission to find Bucky Barnes. Or at least, he finds the man that his friend has become. In his desperation to bring back the Bucky that he knew and loved, Steve accepts an offer for help from Alice, the enigmatic psychiatrist hired by Tony Stark. Though Alice’s services have been gratefully received by many members of the Avengers team, Steve cannot predict the full extent of the affect that she has on his beloved Bucky.
The Asset can’t understand why people keep on calling him Bucky and pretending to care for him. He knows that he has been captured by the enemy and must escape at all costs. The only problem is, Alice and Steve are beginning to feel safer than his masters in Hydra, and the Asset doesn’t yet understand what that might mean.

Fill for this prompt on Tumblr from hawaiianlei13:
"Bucky doesn't understand why the Tony Stark he meets is so different from the one Stevie and his friends tell him about. He doesn't understand why Tony Stark flinches every time he or Stevie take a step towards him. (Truth to be told, Bucky doesn't remember much about Civil War). He doesn't understand why Tony Stark knows an awful lot about triggers and PTSD. Bucky intends to find out, because Stevie would tell him the whole truth, wouldn't he?"

After finally having a full day off for what felt like the first time in years, Tony epiphany-ed way too late for a genius of his caliber, “Do you think he’s getting my guard down because he wants to murder me?”
“He would’ve done it by now,” Friday mused.
“That should comfort me, and yet…”

Tiny Adorable Steve is back in his life, and Tony has never needed someone more. Betrayed and heart broken after the 'Civil War' that tore the Avengers apart, he isn't quite sure how to move forward when it comes to saving the world. He doesn't know how to forgive Rogers or how to fight the alien threat to Earth if he doesn't.
Steve mostly wants to kick Rogers' ass and then bundle Tony away where he'll be safe forever. Their kids can come too, and they could be happy... but his lover could never leave when his world is in danger. He couldn't do it either - they're both heroes, after all.
Defeating Thanos may be a top priority, but they have very different ideas on how to do it. The only thing they agree on is that they're not going to be separated by anything ever again.
