Waking up within the Velvet Room after what felt like an eternity bound to the Great Seal, Minato Arisato is tasked by Philemon to save an alternate world known as Remnant, which was being plagued by Shadow-like monsters known as the Creatures of Grimm and a terrorist militia known as the White Fang, from an impending apocalypse. Not long after his arrival and an encounter with a man named Ozpin, Minato finds himself enrolled at Beacon Academy, where he becomes the unlikely fifth member of Team ARWBY, and as a result, takes part in the misadventures of both his team and Team JNPR… and maybe falls in love with Ruby Rose in the process.
However, while the dark forces behind the apocalypse that Philemon had forewarned of gather their strength in order to devastate Remnant and spread the seeds of chaos and mistrust among the kingdoms, Minato makes the alarming discovery that an old "friend" from his previous life has ended up in Remnant, potentially bringing with him something much, much worse than the Creatures of Grimm and the White Fang. Can Minato, Ruby, Team ARWBY and Team JNPR come out on top of the forces of darkness? Or will the Redeemer of Man finally meet his match, and with it, his true, eternal death?
