“It’s rude to stare,” he says mildly.
“You have long hair,” Yuri returns.
Viktor’s head tilts slightly, and his smile goes sort of stiff, as if he’s holding his breath. “Ah, yes,” he says, then adds, a little tartly, “Boys can have long hair, you know.”
“I know that, stupid,” Yuri says. “You’re right in front of me.”

Katsuki Yuuri is an okay skater with a few fans, none of which he’s made a significant impact on. Or so he thought. When he finds out he has fan mail, he is skeptical but it ends up changing his season. He has people who look up to him and are rooting for him. He can’t let them down.
And when he receives a nice passive aggressive letter from a teenager in Russia, he never imagined he would gain a friend out of it.
Yuri Plisetsky was not expected a response when he wrote a letter to his favorite skater. He just had to tell him that his skating was good and he better up the difficulty before Yuri kicked his ass in seniors.
But Yuuri responded and wanted him to write back, in fact they kept writing letters back and forth. He was becoming friends with his idol.
And somehow Yuuri had gotten him to sympathize with the silver haired idiot. Maybe Viktor was more sad then he let on...
This season was going to be different, skating, friends, relationships, and family.
‘Dear Yuuri Katsuki,
Your skating is not terrible.

Unsure of where the immediate barrage of anxiety, of anxious what ifs, of the constant stream of what if I can't what if I can't what if I can’t are coming from, he's stuck in place. This isn't a usual for him—he's never really felt such strong anxiety before.
