Summary
By all the rotten luck on this side of the Gorkhon, Vladislav Olgimsky's son and heir is born just months before Isidor's. Fat Vlad spends years milking this little coincidence for a sense of superiority over the doctor --- and for the fun of getting under his skin. Eager to share every moment and every factor that makes his son smarter, stronger, more mature, more promising, and overall better that Isidor's. That is until one day when the bragging seems to just...stop. Isidor assumes that Vlad has just grown born with this little game until a few years later Vlad asks for Isidor's help in course-correcting his son's social development and untangling why he's such a little weirdo (but not like...in a homophobic way). Isidor is at first intrigued by this request and eager to gloat himself over his superior fathering abilities, but things quickly get out of hand and Isidor finds himself wishing that Vlad had never asked.

Summary
Rubin found that working part-time as Dankovsky's research partner was draining, but rewarding. He took pride in what he did, of course, and he also liked that Dankovsky made his appreciation of his efforts known. Incidentally, the added and unexpected benefit of this "appreciation" was something he did not feel the need to tell anyone about.

Summary
Artemy has a familiar routine: run the tea-shop that has been passed down to him by his father, watch over his two adoptive children and their talking pet bull Noukher, and occasionally get together with his childhood friends. But nothing can prepare him for two unexpected guests to show up in his life at the same time: Daniil Dankovsky, a haughty and seemingly rude Capitol man who is opening the town's first official clinic with his friend Stakh; and Clara, a teenage girl with a strange case of amnesia and a peculiar disposition, who dug herself out of a grave plot made just for her. Neither of them will leave him alone, yet he can't bring himself to turn them away.

Summary
It had been his suggestion.
Of course it had. Lara would never have dared to make it – even if she’d been so desperate, she would never have thought anyone would want her enough to greet it with anything but laughing disdain.
But he had asked. Raking his eyes over her in a way that made the pit of her stomach boil, he had said there was a very easy way to raise money for her Shelter. One she seemed not to have thought of at all... -

Summary
She threw the mended gloves at him. “Just shut up, Stakh. Cub is our friend. Isidor was your mentor, too, but for all his effort, your mind is still so small.”
Stakh is a bigoted man, and there is only hatred in his heart for the Kin. Everything would be easier that way if only it were true. (Crossposted and not-kinky kink meme fill, details and prompt inside.)

“Mark my words,” Andrey said. “One day, I’ll be off to the Front. You want me to send you back a finger?”
Lara's grip tightened on the mug. “I want his whole head.”
He laughed, sitting heavily on the bed beside her. “You’d have to come along for that.”
In which Lara and Andrey find common ground.

Summary
He was pathetic. A pathetic fucking idiot, and he knew it more than ever standing there in the rain, like a dog left out in it. Staring at Artemy, who’d come jogging through it as a mess of mud and blood, and hoping, hoping...
And just wanting Artemy to be there to stop him. It was all a test, in the end – if he tried to walk away, would anyone care enough to pull him back?- Language:

Summary
“Burakh remembers the first time they had slept together (not like that, not yet); how they had tried to fit both of their selves side by side on Dankovsky’s single bed — how they had managed, somehow. He remembers the electric feeling of skin against his; how Daniil’s legs entwined with his like oaken roots, how the hairs on his arm brushed against him like hyphae. It’s that, then, now, for now; it’s something entirely different. They kiss now like carrion birds.”
An invitation of Dankovsky’s to a gala celebrating the triumphs of modern medicine (and his new work recalling the common fight against the pest) makes its way to Town-on-Gorkhon. Him and Burakh quite missed each other.

Stanislav cannot lie - the clothes are perfect. It’s more apparent now with actual seams to hold them together, but he’d known it even during the fitting. They feel right on him, they feel good. All of a sudden, Master’s words about clothes being a second skin make sense.
