2 months ago, he had seen his father's memories of Marley, the horrible treatment of Eldians in the internment zones, and the horrific truth of the titans.
Now Eren knelt in front of Historia, holding her hand, frozen in shock at what he had witnessed. He had seen the future, he knew what he had done, will do. His future self believed it was the only way, die at the hands of monsters, or become a monster to save your friends and everyone you love.
