It was Sherlock's bright idea to go to a sex club while on the trail of a killer. It's up to John to help them blend in. Luckily, he's got some experience in this arena.
(Part of my "John and Sherlock's Kinky First Times" series of shorts, all revolving around the same basic theme of "John and Sherlock get sexy for the first time and also discover some kinky stuff about each other.")
- Part 17 of John and Sherlock's Kinky First Times
John paces the length of the not inconsiderable hallway and glances at his phone for the tenth time since he exited the hospital room seven minutes ago.
Sherlock’s last text was sent at 5:06pm. It is now 5:39pm. He should be here by now. After all, his daughter is 46-minutes-old and if John is going to share this momentous event with someone, it sure as hell isn’t going to be the woman who just gave birth to her.
- Part 5 of Tumblr Prompts
A bizarre case leads to Sherlock getting tangled up with Amora, the Avengers, and the Aether. After the Avengers rescue him, the young detective notices something strange: his body is changing, becoming more and more powerful due to the Aether living within him for longer than thought possible. Is his new magic for better or worse? Sherlock won't admit it, but he's pretty scared!

Being deceivers, yet we are true; unknown, yet well known; dying, yet behold we live; punished, yet not killed; sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; poor, yet making many rich; having nothing, yet possessing everything.

this wrecked me. genderswap tends to be a really good bet in this fandom because authors don't shy away from confronting gender disparities (hrm something the canon could do with), and this author knocks it out of the park. a really nuanced portrait of what it means to be a female survivor of trauma, and an equally fair depiction of how somebody with sherlock's emotional skills would struggle with conceptualizing the already complex reactions joanna has surrounding her past. you just want to give him a hug, and root for her the whole time on her journey of growth. an honest-to-god shame the third installment seems to be on perma-hiatus.
also, possibly the single best (read: only convincing) explanation of john/joanna's addiction to danger that i've ever seen in the fandom.
going in the canon of fics that kept me up til 4am wanting more.
