Protecting the city is regular occurrence for Billy Batson and his friends/family until Billy starts experiencing urges he should definitely be not, especially when they’re directed towards no other than his best friend, Freddy Freeman. It drives Billy insane and there is nothing he could do to make them stop.

“I got into a fight, I’m really sorry.” Billy doesn’t look at her when he says it. He wishes he could sink into the floor at that moment, he doesn’t need to look at her to know she’s disappointed. Probably calculating how she can get this violent kid out of her home.
“I hope the other guy looks worse then,” Victor tries to make a joke but Rosa glares at him.
She eyes Billy suspiciously, because while it’s obvious there was a fight Billy is not a violent kid by nature. She turns to Freddy who looks about as exasperate as she feels.
“That’s-that’s not. Billy!” Freddy exclaims, both parents turn to him, “It isn’t like that.”

Summary
Billy Batson's last memories consisted of staring into Superman's eyes as his former mentor burned a hole into his skull. After that, there was nothing but horrible darkness and a voice calling out to him, one that continued to get stronger and stronger. Without any warning, he's reborn, awaking in the Rock of Eternity to find out that he never actually died, and the Regime has fallen.
He should be happy knowing that the Insurgency won, that Superman was getting the justice he deserved... but he couldn't be. Something in Billy Batson died, and even now with the help of Shazam, it was never coming back.
In a world trying to get back onto its feet, how could he be apart of it, especially knowing he was part of the reason it fell in the first place?
AKA, I'm salty that Shazam died in Injustice and this is my way of giving the middle finger.

Billy Batson is a foster kid who is fending for himself at this point. He is barley home and would much rather be out on his own or at school.
The thing about school and Billy is, he has a pretty big reputation of being the 'bad kid' that no one is allowed to hang out with. (Even though he's really smart, and quite a nice guy once you talk to him. Why would he tell anyone that though?)Freddy Freeman on the other hand. Freddy is quite the same but different in many ways.
Sure he's a foster kid too, but he also has a welcoming family. His reputation at school is the poor crippled boy who is quite the geek.Freddy knows about Billy and his reputation. He also knows that Billy is so much more than that, yet he has no solid evidence. That's one of the many reasons why he reaches out and tries to befriend him.
Shockingly; it's way easier than Freddy thought.
