Welcome back, my lovely reader!
Neon Warren is an episodic co-author effort between G.C.Stargazer and CanaiCreations. Several cyberpunk-style sources influence the story but most notably, it takes the most heavy influence from the world of Shadowrun.
We have brought our own styles forth to put a spin upon the dystopian near-future world, leaning hard upon CC’s world-building and action, while keeping G.C’s flare for character-building and sexy romance.
This tale will run the gambit of all sorts of relationships, from casual to full-blown romance. No pairing is off limits in the sixth world, so do not be surprised to see boy-love, girl-love, or heterosexual setups. Sex may take place in the aether of the Astral plane, in the static of the Matrix, or in the meatspace, inside a van parked in the back alley.

Crossposted, unsurprisingly. Feedback is much appreciated, as long as it's constructive.
Most of these will involve Marvel/the MCU, DC, Harry Potter, Star Wars, Star Trek, or Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I'm a sucker for canon divergence, both reading and creating, especially when the train actually goes off the rails; it can be easy to get into the habit of 'this is how X event would have looked with the changes I introduced earlier' even when those changes really mean that X event shouldn't have happened at all, and the story ends up being a rehash of canon with a couple of extra flairs rather than an exploration of the core idea. Self-insertion can make that very easy, along with Peggy Sues. In the same vein, introducing a character or group from one setting into another almost always creates an outside-context problem with potentially fascinating results, and many abilities can do the same when transplanted into a new or existing character.

Rhys curled up on the big bed, vast expanses of empty sheets to both sides of him. It ached to be alone, away from the others. But it was easier. He didn't have to pretend.
He guessed that Eskel had seen through him, that they both had. They had been together for long enough, and Rhys was exhausted from playacting for Duncan. He couldn't keep this up.
When Rhys is driven deep into a self-destructive spiral, it shakes the foundation of the polycule. Will they be able to rebuild or will it all crumble into ruins?In the latest chapter:
The combination of the rain, the music, and Rhys drawing reminded Eskel too much of another time they'd done this. While he might not have wanted to have Rhys pin him down and pull his hair this time, Eskel certainly wanted give Rhys a show.
Rhys and Eskel take a step closer to rebuilding what they have lost. Things don't go as planned.Series

Summary
Follows the story of 6 unlikely allies who find themselves thrown together by fate in the cruel and harsh Sixth-World of Shadowrun. These are the narrative adventures of my TTRP group, in our campaign. A new chapter is written most weeks. Because this gets published to my players, it's written from an in-game perspective, with imperfect knowledge - there's very few instances where you read something that wasn't directly observed by them, and as a result sometimes something weird and a little unexplained can happen.
Most of the chapters are probably PG-12 - but it is a harsh world, and gun battles and brutal melee is definitely a thing. There's also some adult content and some scenes of attempted kidnapping and rape of some of the team, and there's a few instances of torture. It's all (hopefully) in context for the story, and I try to keep it implied or not too heavy on the detail - enough so you know what's going on, without being gratuitous.
I also have a group on facebook where I sometimes talk about behind the scenes stuff. People are welcome to join and offer thoughts, criticism, suggestions or just see what is going on behind the story...

From 2013: A lot of very short chapters depicting a Shadowrun PC's first couple of missions during the SURGE period, intertwined with her previous escape from a certain island with her brother.
The format of the competition was supposed to be 100 or fewer words, and there are three words given per week that have to be used (I haven't kept a track of these here, but in weeks I wrote multiple chapters for the same week, some words might be more obvious in their reuse, or the fact I had to shoehorn them in).
Some of the chapters are flashbacks (in italics most of the time): it might be possible to rearrange this chronologically by reading flashbacks first (most of the time, sometimes a chapter might be both)
I have finally finished this: it might be best reading "entire work" and scrolling down, rather than click on the last one if you've read some before... the chapters are really short

Am Abend saß ich mit einer Tasse Tee und dem Almanach der Hexerei beim Küchentisch und anstatt weiter Nachforschungen zu betreiben, dachte ich über die Ereignisse der letzten Wochen und Monate nach. Ohne es zu bemerken, und obwohl ich eigentlich vorgehabt hatte, es zu verhindern, hatte ich mich in Seattle eingelebt. Und Freunde gefunden. Ich musste an den ersten Run mit Thetmes und 2Big denken.
Und daran, wie wir bei der Universellen Bruderschaft eingestiegen waren und der Troll unter dem Einfluß von magisch erzeugter Panik über mich drüber getrampelt war.
Und daran, wie wir uns etliche Male gegenseitig den Hintern gerettet hatten.
Und daran, wie Thetmes versucht hatte, mich unter den Tisch zu saufen - und an den phänomenalen Kater danach.
Jack und Morgana hatten natürlich ebenfalls eine nicht unwesentliche Rolle dabei gespielt, dass sich Seattle jetzt tatsächlich wie "zuhause" anfühlte.

Summary
Not all that fall pick themselves back up. Sometimes it is easier to stay down, to not go back to where one once was.
Between the light and the shadows some will try to walk the line, a foot in both worlds. This isn't as easy as it may sound...
This is a rewrite of a story of mine, an alternate telling with a completely different cast of original (and fully statted) characters of my make. Inspiration is drawn from the SRM modules, and credit goes to those writers whenever possible for their hard work.
