Summary
The player characters of Fallen London are a rum lot. By end game, any protagonist can reasonably expect to be a Biblical scholar, cat burglar, exotic animal breeder, sea captain, police officer, anarchist bomber, prison escapee, occult investigator, and it’s more than likely that they’ll come back from the dead and spend some time lost in the land of dreams at least once. Just how far could one go with a character who was painfully pedestrian – who, however outré their surroundings, clung to the commonplace of Victorian society like a holy talisman? Could they reach the upper echelons of Neathy society without having achieved anything more adventurous than having an extra boiled egg with their breakfast? Well, there’s only one way to find out: by following the non-adventures of Doctor Taupe-Wainscot, the Pabulous Physician!

Summary
Spurred on by the murder of his beloved Elisabeth, the Imprecatory Composer travels to the Neath in search of vengeance. There, he meets the Diminutive Rake, a social climber with a great deal to hide, and the two clash ferociously. But as they find themselves haplessly in one another's company again and again, their feelings begin to change - earning the Composer the jealous ire of the Rake's closest friend, the Struggling Artist. In the midst of this conflict, the lies keep adding up.
The truth can hardly be concealed forever. But is it better to leave some things dead and buried?

Summary
It's rare for Hearts to pay a visit to Veils' rooms. The utter darkness is as unwelcoming as the bared teeth and high hissing conversation muted by silk drapes. It is rarer still for Veils to pay a visit in return, to willingly subject itself to someone else's home. And yet the rustling of its arrival is unmistakable, as is the hungry murmuring of its drapery.
Hearts is preparing meats for tomorrow's shops, cleaver in hand as it sweet-talks flesh into more pleasing shapes, better for consumption. It turns, a grin wide behind its teeth. "Good evening, my dear. What a surprise this is."

"Hi, Buddy!" they say around their fangs, extending a hand. "Do you mind if I join you? It's an excellent costume, very spooky. Are those wings?" Their stomach growls audibly and Cel grimaces. Perhaps they should have grabbed some more canapes.

Summary
The Failbetter Discord server got to thinking last night, and I felt my writing brain rekindled - like a menorah. The original Seeking storyline is so entrenched in Christianity that it was fascinating to consider the alternative; here’s a take on what it’s like to be a Jewish Seeker of the Name.
I’m Jewish, so I drew on a lot of my own background for this, but huge thanks to necromancybitch for helping me workshop and build up these ideas! Bonus thanks to Wiwaxia foliosa, Bananatron, and the Forgettable Curator, among others, for giving me extra creative fuel.
This story contains spoilers for essentially the entirety of Seeking Mr Eaten's Name, including - in concept at least - the Grieve ending.

Summary
"I have never been fond of loyalty as a concept. If someone has been good to me, and it serves the greater good to do so, then of course I will stand by them. But I have found many times in my life when “loyalty” would have forced me to remain in the most abhorrent of situations. And it was hunger that saved me. And continues to save me. It is a burden to bear, but one I take on gladly."
A Londoner with a mission xe cannot be distracted from allows hirself to take an interest in a newcomer to the city. As they come to each other's aid, they begin to talk about their lives, and the nature of personal commitment.
