Shaking his head, Magnus studies him. “You’re the agent.”
It’s a herculean effort, but Alec’s gaze doesn’t waver as he whispers, “Yes.”
Or, aftermath of an FBI case turned love story.
- Part 17 of Tumblr Prompts
It starts on a Tuesday.
Alec takes a long drink from his triple mocha and grimaces a little as the dregs hit his tongue. It’s his fourth-- sixth?-- coffee of the day and he shakes his head a little as he blinks owlishly at the screen of his laptop. When he looks up, Alec isn’t expecting to lock eyes with anyone.
Their eyes meet and the low thrum of coffee shop chatter, the clatter of mugs and the rustle of paper, just fades away.
Or, Alec and Magnus, one day at a time.

Alec spends most of his days studying law, writing articles for a local newspaper to pay for his apartment, and trying not to completely break down after his baby brother has been diagnosed with leukaemia. He’s a busy man, there’s no time for rest, and there’s for sure no time for love on his schedule.
Every single of Magnus’ days is the same. Work, home, drink and a marathon of Project Runway. Every day besides Wednesdays, when he comes to a local hospital as a volunteer and offers some comfort for its patients. Even if his life is boring, it’s stable. And he definitely needs stable after his last relationship. He’s not looking for love. It’s still too soon.
But when fate makes both of the men cross paths, they start to feel something special. Something they have never felt before. And even with their contrasting lives, there’s always time for some love, right?
- Part 1 of The drive of life
27 Jan 2020
Life can be tough, and that’s something both Alec and Magnus know. Just when they think that everything has settled after the demanding events they’ve been through, new troubles come crashing down on them. They are forced to face the demons of their past, new choices await them and this time, they may be even more difficult to make. The future is in their hands, and it’s up to them to decide how they are going to shape it. The only thing they know for sure, is that they'll do it together.
A sequel to “We only see as far as the headlights”.
