‘Focus, Stiles, focus.’ He talks to himself. He’s nervous as fuck. He’s mad. He’s angry. He’s been so fucking sad and alone and he felt torn apart when not only Scott and the pack left, but even Derek. He left before Stiles could say something, before Stiles could hug him goodbye. Often, in Stiles’ dreams that always turned in nightmares he’d hug Derek, both of them crying. That dream shakes him every time and fuels his anger on himself and on Derek. He wants to punch Derek so damn hard. Now he can do that. He isn’t a 17 years old teenager with limbs that he can’t control. He’s a young 23 years old man who got into a habit of jogging every morning and every night for the last two years.

There is a lot that should be known about Stiles. He isn’t a simple man at all. His brain has the capacity to leave everything behind and just focus on the main target, calculating every single detail, projecting in his mind every singly route, every single bad plan and good plan. He has maps inside his brain; he is perhaps one of the few most calculated men out there. He can throw his knife perfectly with his eyes closed and he’d kill you if he’d want that. When he dissociates like this, in a mission, people witness the intensity of his eyes, nothing gets alive from those eyes, that look, those dilated pupils, he never blinks he just focuses. And he’s damn scary. He has a target, a mission, he completes it perfectly, even though he’d get hurt or he’d die. One time, he was in a mission in Teheran and he got stabbed 5 times in his back and he got 2 bullets in his left thigh and yet, with blood soaking his clothes, he managed to shoot a perfect bullet right through the target’s brain. Then he collapsed and the CIA went in and pulled him out of that mess. He still has the scars onto his body, and he doesn’t give a shit. He’d gladly take another 2 bullets and a lot more knives inside his body.

High school. It's difficult enough to navigate on its own. Especially when you were quick-witted, bitterly sarcastic, and emotionally constipated with a bad case of verbal diarrhea. And yes she was aware of the inherent contradiction contained within that phrase.
When Charlie Oswin moved to Beacon Hills after the death of her father, she thought the worst she'd have to deal with was gossip, term papers, and her new best friend Lydia Martin lipsticking her to death in the never-ending quest to make Charlie socially acceptable. Actually Lydia had described it more as avoiding becoming a 'facepalm-inducing embarrassment'. But for a tiny town that was 90% forest with one functional movie theater, a lot of people seemed to be dying. There was something off going on in Beacon Hills.
Enter one Stiles Stilinski. He was a twitchy, sarcastic weirdo, and she appreciated that in a person. He and his friend Scott McCall also happened to be at the center of every strange thing that was going on in this weird-ass town. It was one giant mystery. And she was going to figure out what it was. She just never expected to stop being scary and defensive long enough to start developing actual human feelings along the way.

Derek's a billionaire with anxiety and a complete inability to be socially adept in any way, shape, or form (just ask Laura). He only agrees to the dating service because Laura's nagging's worn him down, but then he sees Stiles' video response and agrees to go on a date with him.
Stiles just wants to go on a date (it's been forever and a day since his last one), and he has a thing for this guy's eyes/smile/everything, so he replies to the somewhat personal questions via video. He's surprised that he's asked on a date, but won't turn it down, even if he's just spent the last of his money on clothes to impress said date and probably won't be able to afford dinner.

The Nogitsune comes back when Stiles is at his weakest. The difference? Now he's out to protect Stiles from not only the two demon princes waiting in the depths of the boy's damaged soul, but from his own "pack" that practically abandoned him and a coven of vampires. Can the pack save Stiles? Does he even want to be saved anymore? Giving up control just seems so nice right now... and the Nogitsune has been so kind to him he doesn't want to leave the peaceful cradle of his mind.

He finds a normal life in his new town, he settles and finds himself. He finds friends and love in the seaside town and he leaves the supernatural world behind him.
Well he tries to until he finds himself at Harvard where the supernatural finds him. You can’t escape them for that long when they know of you. Stiles fights and builds a name for himself, one that gets back to the Beacon Hills pack.
Stiles had hoped for a normal life, but things never work out when you have a sourwolf knocking on your door, begging for your help.
