“So... How long?” Yuuji sat up straight in the bed, still practically drowning in the messy comforter surrounding him as he gazed up adoringly and inquiringly at a stark-naked Megumi, who was leaning ever-so-casually against the edge of the countertop while soundlessly sipping his tea.
“How long, what?” Megumi asked flatly, cocking an eyebrow back at the pink-haired boy.
“How long have you known how you felt about me?”
Megumi’s face crinkled into a reflexive frown, wanting to react as if the question was presumptuous and arrogant, but inevitably he just sighed, knowing he should acknowledge that it was a serious question worthy of a serious answer. He paused and closed his eyes as he began to think back, to remember.
“Hm… I suppose I knew something had really changed in me after I realized you’d actually eaten that first, disgusting finger.”

Your breath caught in your lungs as gleaming, red eyes bore into your own that had widened comically at the situation. A wide smile bloomed across the guy’s face, showing off sharp fangs where normal canines would be. The clawed hand moved from your chin and stroked the side of your face, pointer finger trailing just under the hinge of your jaw. You shivered at the feather-light touch. The danger brimming just under the surface of his skin was evident in the way he touched you, confidently, letting his claws skim over your skin – the promise to break it if you moved a hair out of line.

Megumi noticed it first.
It was subtle and gradual, the decline of their relationship. He was sure Yuuji hadn't noticed it yet. It started with small things, the way the lingering touches lingered shorter, the way his eyes would seem to wander more often, the way he would become contemplative at odd times during the day.
It was almost imperceptible, but Megumi who knew of loss and longing and leaving noticed all the signs.

It was a chill Friday night, Megumi staying behind when the first and second years asked if he wanted to come out with them.
