While trapped inside his cell in Pandora's Vault, Dream has a lot of time to think. During his first few months in the prison, all his thoughts were consumed by plans of escape and the revenge he would in-act on everyone who wronged him.
Now, Dream only ever thinks about the past. He thinks about the friends he loved and lost. He thinks about the early days of the SMP, before all the wars and bloodshed began. But, most of all, he thinks about how it all went wrong and if there is any way for him to make things right again.
Or Dream reminisces about the early SMP days while locked in Pandora's Vault.

He won. He slayed them, he slayed them all. He destroyed something he founded with his closest friends, leaving behind smoking ruins and blood-stained blocks while also disrupting the other threats which made them permanently dormant. But soon, he realizes just how much carnage he reaped the entire time. Is there anyone left to help him, and will he get a second chance?
(My take on how the Dream SMP would end based on a couple theories, along with extra things that would work if the main villain ever does get a redemption arc.)

Sapnap realises what’s best for him.He rolls his eyes as he reluctantly agrees, carefully sticking his head out the window, his arms cautiously raising to his sides, as he feels the wind between his hair, his fingers, his whole entire being.
He feels free.
And he’s happy.
His laughs echo in the tunnel as he smiles, Sapnap also sticking one hand out of the window as his adrenaline pumps around his body, causing him to want to live life on the edge a bit more.

Was it worth cutting ties with them all? Treating people like objects? Like weaknesses?
No. It was not worth it. And now Dream would die for it, in a strip mine hours away from the main SMP, with nobody bothering to look for him because he was good enough to look after himself, at least in his own eyes he was.
A human can only go so far to be inhuman, as immoral as Dream is, he knows he is not a deity,
With closed eyes, just in the distance, Dream swears he hears the footsteps and chatter of hope. Then again, could be his already crazed state of mind.Maybe it was better this way.
