Essay must be four pages minimum, five pages maximum. Must include three sources. Can be typed or handwritten. Contest winners receive a grand prize and all contestants will receive extra credit!

Maybe the fact that the essay contest had been so ridiculously easy to win should’ve tipped Midoriya Izuku off sooner. He’s always wanted to be a hero, but with one essay he finds himself scooped up by none other than the Hero Public Safety Commission to train to support heroes instead. All while doing things he’s already good at! It’s, really, an easy decision to make.
Problems quickly rise, though, when a lot of people decide they want him in the job field as soon as possible. And it’s clear this job is far from the idyllic heroic work he always imagined he’d be doing.

Summary
The recreation center in downtown Musutafu offered a program called the Volunteer Youth Heroes. The idea being that children between the ages of 7-10, after a bit of training, could go work alongside adult volunteers. Helping pick up trash in the city, assist at soup kitchens, and join in on community projects. Heroes today, Pro Heroes tomorrow, so to speak.
Of course, everything gets thrown on its head when the training ends and five of the seven wannabe volunteers just vanish. Gone, without any kind of trace to their whereabouts. The case baffles everyone, and then, steadily, goes cold.
Pro Heroes are a unique type of person. You need to have the right skills, the drive, the confidence, the right quirk to be a Pro Hero. Not just anyone can do it.
And if you can’t, what of the world? What about saving people, stopping villains, and ensuring that crime is detected and brought to the light?
If you can’t be a hero, would you still be a Volunteer?

There’s only one more epinephrine pen. Only one more chance to bring his incredibly stupid, stubborn, hypocritical mess of a classmate back from the dead. He stabs his last remaining hope directly into Midoriya’s chest. There’s a beat of absolute and complete silence.
And then, the most beautiful sound Shinso has heard in his entire life. A gasp. He nearly cries with relief.
“You,” he manages to strangle out between too-quick breaths. “Are fucking insane.”
“And right.” Despite the intense shivering, Midoriya’s smile is something to behold. It’s brilliant. Like he’s seen God, held him at his mercy, made him beg, and despite it all, killed him. “Shinso. It Worked.”

OR: Midoriya thinks he's found the secret to Quirk Awakening. Shinso thinks he's either horribly delusional, or worse, unimaginably brilliant. Either way, this seems like far too much effort to put into a school project, even if it is a major grade. -

In canon Izuku turned out to be quirkless, despite both his parents having quirks: a quirk that attracts small objects and a quirk that breathes fire. There are so many ways for these quirks to have combined into what could've been Izuku's quirk, and so many of these diverse potential quirks can be seen across the multiverse. But in this specific one both seemingly weak quirks accidentally create the most powerful combination possible.
A healthy dose of the butterfly effect, plenty of quirk theory and analysis, unconventional relationships and dilemmas, a revamped curriculum and more await Izuku and the others.

Summary
In some universes, Izuku Midoriya's dream came true when All Might gave him One for All. He was finally on a level playing field with everyone else, and he ran forward into the future without looking back, aiming to become the next Symbol of Peace. This was not one of those universes.
In other universes, Izuku Midoriya was never given One for All. Maybe he never encountered the sludge villain a second time. Maybe All Might didn't track him down afterward. Whatever the cause, Izuku Midoriya remained quirkless. In some of those universes, he became a villain, disenfranchised with the society that had always beat him down. While those universes were closer to this one, this was not one of them either.
In this universe, Izuku Midoriya still received One for All, but he never forgot what it meant to be quirkless. He never forgot the way that those who were deemed "lesser" were treated. Izuku Midoriya was made to help people. When he realized that the heroes he'd admired for his entire life would never help people like him, not if it meant giving up their power, well...
The road to Hell was paved with good intentions. At least Izuku wasn't walking it alone.

All For One waited for the qualification.
"But... But... I don't think I can do it as a hero," his son wailed. "But I still want to help people!"
Hisashi hugged his son. "You will help people, Izuku." He placed his cheek on the crown of Izuku's head. His son's green curls were so soft and he just held his boy for a few moments longer. "You will stand by my side when I change the world," All For One told his son. "You will be my dragon," he added.It didn't start when All Might told Izuku that he couldn't be a hero. It started much earlier than that, when Hisashi Midoriya walked out on Inko, taking with him their four and a half year old son.
AFO will devote a lot of time to investments he considers worthwhile. His son is one such investment. With AFO shaping his experiences, Izuku's Elementary School Years are very different than those in canon.

Summary
At the age of four, Izuku Midoriya is subjected to a horrifying assault that leaves him without a quirk, though the memories of the event are locked away. Afterwards, strange changes begin to overcome Izuku, and as he finds most aspects of his physiology being enhanced, the figures watching him from the shadows can't help but have their interest piqued. Resolved to become a hero despite his lack of a quirk, Izuku gathers friends and mentors while making discoveries about both the nature of quirks, and the impacts they have on their wielders. In the shadows, sinister figures begin to take a more active interest in the boy, both in the changes within him and in the promise of his discoveries. Behind everything, the blood feud between All for One and One for All continues to rage, dragging Izuku into a conflict that has more to do with him than anyone would have at first thought.
