Summary
Are they forever going to be crashing through each other’s lives like this? They can’t quite seem to converge without a stomach-swerving sort of chaos—not in this world, in this timeline. Certainly not intentionally and mutually, or without shame, regret and shouldn’t haves. So many mistakes that surely didn’t add up to anything worth learning from. Because of course he shouldn’t have slept with Eliot and he shouldn’t look at him either. Not the way he wants to. The way he knows he always has, even when Alice was right there, sharp-eyed and silent, watching Quentin want things he couldn’t have.
Quentin never has been very good at stopping himself from wanting.
Or: Quentin and Eliot have a lot to work out before they can find their way back to one another. And then a whole lot more after that.

Summary
Quentin is a hero. Quentin is Eliot's hero as much as Eliot is Quentin's hero.
"It amazed him that he had been able to call life what was not them.
Language plays these tricks: sometimes it finds alternative words, doped up words, megalomaniac words. To call life what was not them was a lying hyperbole, a way that words have of hiding what they should show." -

Summary
“It takes a lot to take care of a dog in a city like this. There’s just not much place for them to run around,” Eliot says. He places his thumb right over the furrow in Quentin’s brow.
“We’ve got the backyard—and like, we’re walking distance from the park. And it’s good for—health. And exercise. And if we rescue a dog, we’re rescuing it from, like, questionable circumstances. I have a list—” Quentin does have a list of arguments prepared in his notes app on his phone—and he is not planning to bring up the fact that he came back from the dead, and he should be able to have a pet if he wants one. He goes to reach for his phone, but Eliot stops him, catching his hand and threading their fingers together.
“We’ll go to the adoption event, baby. If it makes you happy, we’ll do it.”

Summary
Eliot Waugh was not always the spectacular second year student Quentin had the good fortune to meet on his first day at Brakebills. “Self-made” for better or worse, fits Eliot to the T, and the beginning of everything he was and became, started in Indiana.
It started with the new girl.

Summary
Quentin's back, the Monster's gone, everyone is more or less okay. Well, they're alive, and with no big quests or threats looming, they can just relax and recover.
Now the only question is - how the fuck does that work?

Summary
He’s willing, he thinks, to live in the frenzied path of this life where they’re both struggling again, rearranging the parts of it so quickly that he can barely hold onto the images that whip past him. He wonders what he’ll remember of this time when he’s old. Maybe just the shifting expressions of Quentin’s face, solemn and concerned, openly adoring when he looks at Eliot, lit from within with wonder when he perfects a spell or reads to Teddy before bed. Solstice memories might not stick (God, he hopes—he hopes he gets to keep that as he ages—or if they ever go back home), but some of these things will remain clear. He can only hope.

Summary
