When Ada moves back home to West Texas for a new lease on life, the last thing she expects is to fall hard for the scruffy Irishman sleeping in the back pews of the town church. Then there's the whole thing about Cassidy being an aimless, substance-loving vampire, and his best mate, the preacher, possessing a power that rivals God himself.
But Cass strives to be better, for himself and for Ada, and their lives will never be the same.
Rewriting the history of Preacher to give Cassidy the slice of happiness he deserved. This fic closely follows the plot of the show, but reveals how a bit of love could have made things different for Cass.

And maybe Jesse doesn’t have the monopoly on cognitive dissonance, because Cassidy suddenly has the dual, conflicting urges to hug the man and bite him all at the same time, to clean the blood from Jesse’s skin and then bloody him up again. It’s a little ridiculous and a lot like the shit Cassidy never lets himself think about, right for this fucking reason, because thinking about Jesse doesn’t do anything except get him all twisted up inside.
AKA the Masada ending that could have been if the boys weren’t so goddamn stupid.

Also titled: Cheap Incense and Cigarette Smoke
The air smelled of a bad mixture of herbs and cannabis, cheap incense and cigarette smoke. The use of the herbs and incense were mostly a failed attempt to hide the overwhelming musk of the other combined smoke that stained the cheap Louisiana apartment’s decaying wallpaper. It appeared that the humid heat of summer didn't seem to particularly help the stench either, even with an open window the heat decided to rise and eventually stick within the shoddy unit. Of course, it was like this every summer since (Y/N) moved to New Orleans; though now she at least had someone to complain about the scent with.

I will be working on this fanfic slowly but will try to update on a regular basis. Will follow all 4 seasons but will have a few surprise changes along the way! I loved the show and comics so there will be some of both thrown in with some original plots mixed in! And our favorite tattooed vampire deserved better!
