His throat aches as he massages his jugular, his spare hand holding his tousled hair back at the nape of his neck, away from his hacking lungs in that nostalgia-inducing way. Only, this time, the world spins beneath his feet, rocking back and forth like ocean tides lapping his ankles, and he digs his heels into the earth to prevent himself from collapsing at that very second. When he opens his eyes, finally able to bear the sight of his surroundings, he sees it. Something that makes his stomach churn with a gut feeling. A feeling that screams that it’s all so utterly wrong.
It’s a flower; pearly white with watercolour traces of cobalt painted across its delicate surface, coated in droplets of carmine. With its rounded edges and familiar gilded core of gold is a god-damn flower.
A flower that came from him.

In a matter of seconds everything clicked in Tommy's head. The rush, the dull and lifeless gaze of the brunette, the path that took him to the empty train station. Without realizing it Tommy increased his pace, starting to run while holding the notebook against his chest.
Tommy had already seen a similar situation, something he had unfortunately witnessed, and his anxiety reached its limit in a matter of seconds.
He wanted answers. He wanted to return the notebook to its owner. He wanted to know what those songs and stories might look like when they were finished. He wanted to know if that person liked the same band as him, if he liked the same book as him, if he liked the same series as him. For a brief second he wanted to get to know that person and understand why he can see himself in him, even just by reading small snippets of his psyche.
For a moment, this time, he would manage to save someone's life. The same failure doesn't happen twice.

Tommy's parents aren't really... there. Wilbur notices, and invites Tommy over.“But- didn’t you say your parents would be home?” There was something akin to worry in Wilbur’s voice, and Tommy ignored it as he tied his shoes.
“That I did. They were home, but there were also work emergencies. You know how it is.” Tommy replied, sighing as he looked in the fridge. There was some ham, a moldy tangerine, what remained of a 12 pack of coke, and a couple beers from the last time his parents were here, a couple of weeks ago. If Ranboo was here he would berate Tommy on the lack of spaghetti, he thought as he shut the fridge with a snort.
