She shook herself out of her old memories, almost forgetting that she was sitting in front of his grave. Newer, worse memories awaited her here. She and Tony sat in silence, passing the whiskey back and forth. The first bottle of whiskey ran out and in true Tony fashion, he produced another. Gwen found herself smiling, ever so slightly, at the predictability of it only to find herself crashing back to reality every time she saw the name carved into the frigid stone.

[ Re-Write of "When The Day met the night" ]
It had been said that luck never truly gives, it only lends. With that in mind, Peter guessed that for the past 17 years, he was still... waiting. He was waiting for the one moment in his life to finally go right. No more cancer treatments, no more nightmares, no more pain.
He knew he didn't have much longer left to live.
After all, the five-year survival rate for a stage four lung cancer patient was less than ten percent.
Tony thinks that his son will be in that ten percent. And as for his other father, Steve, Peter couldn't really tell. It was hard getting the opinion of someone who was rarely around anymore.
This had been his life for the past few months. His parents would argue, one would leave, and then the other would drink. He knew it wasn't their fault though. They'd given everything they had to try to give Peter a good life.
They were exhausted.
This was the beginning of his end.
That was, until, Peter met someone who helped him realize that it didn't have to end like this. And hopefully, with his new luck, good or bad, this might just change his life for the better.
Or worse.

Three months ago Peter had died. His best friend had killed him and he had bleed out in Wade's arms. Peter doesn't know that, though.
Three months ago Wade sold himself to Death in exchange for Peter's soul. Ever since then Peter is a little bit dead inside. Wade doesn't know that, though.
Afterwards, all that the two want is to be together and have a somewhat normal life, or as normal as life can be when it includes, Superheroes, Nazis and personified Death. But they can't hide from the truth, not forever. They don't know that, though.

At least, that's the illusion he tries to maintain. But wrangling a rowdy selection of roommates, including at least one alien and several notorious criminals, isn't easy. Still, despite the fact that someone had switched the milk for sulphuric acid, again, and that there was a bullet hole in his favourite jacket, he wouldn't give it up for the world.
A story about found family, and redemption. Also a story about Parker Luck not always being the worst thing in the world.

He always felt like he had to prove himself, that he had to be perfect, no mistakes.
The Avengers had there chance for more than long enough, they blew it. He finds his feet side by side with defenders and other anti-hero vigilantes who don't sideline him like everyone else, he's seen a lot, been through a lot and is not that far off adulthood. The public favor seems to tip more and more to the vigilante side of the scale considering how many busts the community have made in close proximity to the tower while the Avengers sit up there not giving a shit. He does what he does to help people, the Avengers only come out of their hidey hole for Loki level threats or the superhero airport tantrum that (which he was regretfully apart of but none of his friends held it against him more angered by the fact that he was pit against super assassins without being told what he was fight for. thank god the accords were scrapped).
It's all about perspective and Peter finds with his profession that it depends who you ask to what response you get. Of course after months of skillfully avoiding the Avengers it doesn't stay that way. (it never does).
Parker luck just doesn't take a break.

Basically, this is a fic if I wrote MCU with a grown Peter Parker from the start and because Emma Stone did a great job as Gwen Stacy and I refuse to give up on her. Will there still be IronDad moment while Ben Parker still having a huge influence on his character development? Yes. But will it be long, long, looooong journey to that point? Also yes. To the point that if I put it in a tag, I feel like I'm false advertising.In this fic; we respect all three spider-men from the movies and what they represent.
