    Mythos: Myths. Kleos: Renown, Fame and Glory.
    Greco-Roman world is a fascinating one, one whose worldviews and perspectives are shaped by countless numbers of tales, of heroes and kings, gods and goddesses, creatures and beings, that are parts of the cultural inheritances the Western world so proudly share. Myths are coded into our collective consciousness, and they frame our understandings of the world. Yet often these stories are narrated rather passively in the distant viewpoints of an omniscient teller, whose detachment sometimes does not allow us to truly and deeply connect with the characters. This series is my attempt to pry into the minds of these beloved characters, and recreate their stories.

    “Don’t you see?!” Cassandra demands, grabbing Nestor by the shoulders and shaking him. Patroclus watches the show with mild interest. “There are cool kids and there are losers, there are jocks and rich kids and geeks and goths and stoners and everything in between, and what we’re about to enter is a swirling vortex of horror wherein they all intermix.”

    ~~~ ~~~ ~~~
    Or, in which Patroclus pines after Achilles, Achilles pines after Patroclus, Briseis plays matchmaker, Odysseus has bad ideas, Diomedes has worse ones, Agamemnon sucks, Menelaus can't hold down a girlfriend, and the entire school goes to war.
    Yet another retelling of the Trojan War cycle.
    Tired of those yet? But we all know there can never be too many.
    Let's try to approach it from the beginning.
    And... not disrespect the source material too much, if possible.
    Trolling Paris? Always a delight.
    Mysterious are the ways of fate, unlikely soulmates brought together by the gods to stop a war meant to last decades.
    UPDATE: I decided to put the story on HIATUS due to lack of inspiration. I will focus instead on another fic that I hope to finish, and I will try to get back to this one as soon as possible because there are definitely enough ideas to continue, but not enough inspiration to write. Thank you for your understanding!
    Summary
    Era una cosa delicata, il sonno; la nutrice non si stancava mai di ripeterglielo.
    Era nel sonno che gli dei ti parlavano e i mostri ti tendevano agguati, pronti a dilaniare la tua mente mortale con le loro zanne eterne e acuminate.
    La nutrice le aveva detto che la bambola sarebbe stata la sua guardiana, l’unica in grado di allontanare i suoi terrori notturni, e così, se la notte passava serena, la mattina non si risparmiava lode alcuna nei suoi confronti; ma se erano i mostri ad averla vinta, nulla poteva salvare quel giocattolo dalla sua temporanea ira infantile, che la faceva sbattere con violenza contro il muro più vicino.
    Ne erano passati di anni da allora, oh, se ne erano passati.
    Ora era una donna, e bella.
    La più bella di tutte.
    Sarpedon, captain of the men of Lycia, is tired of this war. It has gone on for nearly ten years and there is still no end in sight. He wonders if it ever WILL end and what he must do, speaking about these things to Glaucus, his second-in-command. On the following day, his question is -heartbreakingly- answered.
    (And yes, this is about the Trojan War as Homer writes of it in The Iliad.)
