Mara Ajax, a J-TECH officer specializing in Jaeger engineering and weaponry systems who worked on Jaeger's such as Striker Berserker, Hunter Vertigo, and Zeus Marauder, got transferred over to the Meridian Shatterdome in Australia to repair the Jaegers that come through there.
Shortly before the Black begins, she goes outside of the shatterdome and drives across the city, seeing Striker Berserker, and Mara entered the Jaeger through the hatch.
She finds an injured Hercules Hansen and his co-pilot, who is non-responsive. Mara stays by Herc's side, trying to help him when mysterious hooded ladies appear and take them away.

Now after escaping Shadow Basin while running for her life in The Black only to be saved by Bogan from a near fatal heat stroke.
In order to repay them for saving her life she became a nurse and assistant for Bogan's only medic Dr. Eric Heisenberg. Though little did she know this would lead to not only meeting with the Travis siblings again but also encountering an enigmatic boy and a journey through The Black.
