Greg Lestrade was not your typical omega, he was most definitely not a typical omega. He wasn't scared of anyone least of all arrogant knot heads who thought he should be on his knees for them accepting anything they did too him be that knotting him and keeping him pregnant with as many pups as they could manage until they had breed him out then casting him aside for another younger more fertile model, while keeping any of his alpha pups and giving away or selling his omega pups to be knotted and kept pregnant until they too had been breed out. No he was most definitely not that. Almost every Alpha he had ever come into contact with had ended up on their knees nursing a broken nose or picking up their teeth when they had tried to dominate him and force his submission. Greg Lestrade had balls, very large steel balls and a spine to match. He was his own person and anyone who had a problem with that had better mind their own balls or he would be wearing their balls around his neck as a trophy. He didn't need anyone to make his life easier, he didn't need anyone to make his life better either he could and would do it himself.

I had an idea for a "darker" Greg Lestrade and tried to write it: he ended up with some of the original idea and not nearly as dark as i originally intended. Because this has rather gone off in its own direction, i regret to say that tags will have to be updated (and possible changed) as we go, and i have no idea how it should be rated so i picked unrated.

Eventually they stopped outside Mycroft’s car, having taken a couple of loops around the block, Greg not even noticing, just bouncing on the balls of his feet with a huge grin on his face, that Mycroft would do anything to keep there.

He decided to visit the National Gallery and went into an exhibition of Japanese art. He stood there quietly and wondered why people had taken the effort to repair broken objects. He admired the gold lines and had to admit that there was something endearing to it. There was beauty in broken things, some things perhaps.
He wondered if broken people would be able to have their cracks repaired like pieces of pottery. He shook his head at his thought and just realised that it was perhaps for other people and not him. He felt as if he had been much too damaged over the years. There was a quality about him that he disliked about himself, a coldness that made him unlovable or unable to be considered to be a normal person. He had temporarily forgotten about it until this morning.
